It’s Day 30 of Blogtober- we are nearing the end now. I have to admit, I nearly failed at this point. I’m so tired and nearly didn’t post today. But there are only two days left- I can do it! Today’s prompt is pumpkin carving. So for somebody who blogs a lot about Pumpkin Picking in Pembrokeshire, I don’t actually like carving pumpkins! I know- sacrilege! I find it cold and messy and I’m not very good with a knife (I blame my left-handedness but I’m sure other left-handers are actually savvier with a knife than I am!). Thankfully, the kids are older now and love pumpkin carving so they can carve their own.

Caitlyn and Izzy are carving theirs tomorrow. Caitlyn chose an interesting-shaped pumpkin (or bum-kin?) so I wonder what design she’ll carve! Rebecca carved hers earlier as they had a competition at her school.

Moon and Stars Pumpkin Carving
She didn’t use any tools, just an old-fashioned spoon for scooping out the flesh, a screwdriver for the holes and a knife for cutting. I think her moon and stars pumpkin carving is very pretty! Well done Bex! xxx

If you fancy a change to the traditional scary pumpkin face carving there are so many designs online to choose from.

I’m always impressed with the intricate designs that people take the time to carve. We’re all about the simple and quick designs in this house though!
Have you carved a pumpkin this year? What design did you carve?

I am glad you hung on in there with Blogtober, we’re so close to the end. Rebecca did so well with her’s. It is so pretty.
We carved our pumpkins yesterday and learned that cookie cutters are great for cutting shapes out. hehehe
