Diary of the Evans-Crittens is a UK-based family lifestyle blog, which originally started as a personal online diary and has grown into a space where we share our everyday family life, days out, travel around Pembrokeshire and the UK, home, food, crafts, theatre, books, and all the little moments in between. We live in Pembrokeshire, in South West Wales, just by the sea, and much of what we share is inspired by where we live and the life we lead here.
Over the years, the blog has grown into a trusted space for sharing family life and has led to collaborations with a range of well-known brands and attractions.
I’m Claire, a teacher by training and a writer at heart. I originally worked as a Primary School teacher before moving into freelance writing and editing after redundancy and the arrival of my fourth child. Writing has always been a constant for me, whether that’s telling stories, capturing family moments, or sharing the things we get up to as a family.
When I’m not writing, I’m usually juggling a mix of family life and personal interests. I love music, from musicals to heavier rock, and I’ve always got a book on the go. I enjoy cooking and baking, trying new vegan recipes, getting stuck into crafts like drawing, knitting, sewing, candle-making, and soap-making, and I love a good day out when we get the chance. I also enjoy photography, fashion, beauty, and the quieter moments, like a bath and a bit of downtime when they happen. Running is something I keep meaning to do more of, but family life tends to come first, so at the moment I’m mainly walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and walking Ozzy the dog.
Dave is my long-term fiancé (we will get round to it one day- we promise! 😉 )and a Marine Technician, working with boats as Director of Windjammer Marine, as well as a bass player in the bands Hate Gauge and Trunk Shot.
Music has always been a big part of his life, and he’s happiest when he’s gigging, playing or collecting new bass guitars. He also enjoys going out on adventures as a family, and he’s a brilliant cook when he gets the chance, especially when it comes to curries, soups and creative desserts.

Our eldest, Danny, is now an adult! He was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome and has had three major open-heart surgeries. He’s doing well at the moment, with his main limitations being fatigue and managing medication, including warfarin. Danny loves the outdoors, camping, kayaking, campfires and anything involving being on the water. He’s really good with his hands and always busy making things. He also enjoys watching films and gaming. He’s also really into music and plays bass guitar.

Rebecca is now a University Mental Health Nurse Student. She is creative and thoughtful, with a love of reading, writing, drawing and crafts. She is particularly talented at crochet and can make anything she puts her mind to. She enjoys theatre, music, singing and dancing, and still always thinks of others.

Caitlyn is an animal lover and is studying Animal Management at college. She particularly loves dogs, dog training and grooming. She also enjoys football (she’s a goalie), gaming, going to the theatre, watching films, cooking, baking, and doing things her own way.

Izzy is our youngest and brings a lot of energy and joy into everything. It’s hard to believe that even our youngest is a teenager now! She loves drawing, photography, cooking, baking, reading, puzzles and gaming. She also enjoys gardening, exploring nature and being outside, especially at the beach or woods.
