I love having a new dress to wear for Christmas parties. This year, however, has been so hectic that I haven’t had the time to even think about looking for a new dress so when Bonmarche asked me to choose and review some party clothes for them I was very grateful.
It didn’t take me long to choose. I went straight to the Christmas Partywear Section and chose the Evening Dresses tab to browse. I then “refined by size” so I wouldn’t be disappointed finding gorgeous dresses that weren’t available in my size (I hate it when that happens!).
I was instantly drawn to this David Emanuel Beaded Wrap Dress in purple. As I’m short and wide (lucky me, hey?) I find lower cut dresses more flattering and comfortable on me. I also like the way the wrap style accentuates my waist. The sparkly bead details make it perfect for Christmas and parties- I added sparkle with my necklace and hairband too. I found this dress easy to wear. I teamed it with black tights, heels and handbag. I would also have worn this style last Christmas when I was still nursing Izzy, so it is practical too.
As you can see I also tried it on with a Christmas hat as I am bound to be wearing lots of funny head wear over the next few weeks!
I also have so many (flattering, hmm) photos like this taken of me over Christmas so I thought I’d check the “after party crashed on the sofa look”. The stretch jersey fabric means it is suitable for parties accompanied by a meal or buffet too!
I know that I need to get fit and healthy in 2015, but when I am out enjoying myself I like to eat and drink without my dress literally bursting at the seams, so this number passes the test.
Do you need a new dress for Christmas? The last order date is Monday 22nd so remember to order soon. This particular dress is currently on offer at £17.99 with only £2.99 for express delivery to get it in time for the big day.
When I take this dress out on the dance floor I will pop a pretty brooch on the wrap front, just to be extra safe!
What party dress will you be wearing this Christmas?
