Pumpkin Picking is a fun and affordable outing for families at this time of year. It’s a good excuse to get outdoors and enjoy nature, while also choosing your pumpkin ready for Halloween. When I was younger it was more common to see turnip or swede Jack-o-Lanterns. By the time my kids were born, large “Halloween pumpkins” were increasingly popular but it wasn’t until 2014 that we finally became aware of a Pumpkin Patch local to us, so we could finally go Pumpkin Picking. Sadly, our original Pumpkin Patch at Brooksgrove Farm is no longer opening up a Pumpkin Patch as over the years it got too popular for their small farm, which had limited access. However, they really “carved” the way for Pumpkin Patches in Pembrokeshire and new ones now spring up all the time.

Yes, I think since the strange few years we’ve all had we all feel like making the most of celebrations, such as Halloween and Christmas. xxx
I just love this. Sadly my kids are too old for it now, and Halloween for them as kids wasn’t a fraction of what it is now.

Oh, that’s good. I’m hoping our local farm will open up to visitors too but it’s their first year growing so I’m not sure if they’re just going to sell in the farm shop xxx
I love pumpkin picking and this patch seems amazing!
