As I get older, I realise more and more how important it is to enjoy the ordinary moments in each day. As a dog owner to the lovely Ozzy, there are definitely some mornings when I have a little moan to myself about having to take him out into the garden before I’ve even had a chance to wake up properly. But lately, I’ve been trying to embrace those slower starts to the day instead of rushing through them.
And actually, I’ve started really enjoying those first quiet moments in the garden -especially on a dry spring or summer morning. Soaking up the natural sunlight, taking in the flowers and greenery, sipping my first cup of coffee and listening to the birds singing before the day properly begins. It’s bliss. The calm before the storm, once life gets busy.
As well as bringing a cuppa outside with me, the other thing that makes my mornings feel better is wearing a good pair of pyjamas. I think it’s important to have nightwear that you don’t mind the neighbours- or random passers-by – seeing you in! Wash and Wear
Once again, my British Boxers parcel arrived quickly and beautifully packaged. It feels like such a treat receiving them. The first thing I noticed when opening the parcel was how soft these bamboo pyjamas felt. I couldn’t wait to wash and dry them and get to wear them for the first time.
Once washed, these pyjamas felt even softer and smelt divine. Thanks to the bamboo fabric, they really hold onto the freshly washed smell. I have a thing for beautiful scents, so I couldn’t stop sniffing them as they smelled so lovely! I know I’m strange! I also love that as soon as they’re dry, they’re ready to put on. There is no need to iron (although you can run a low iron over them if you want to). For me, life is too short to iron nightwear. All the photos show the nightwear unironed; the creases naturally fall out as you wear them, which makes them feel both luxurious and wonderfully low-maintenance.
Why Bamboo Pyjamas Work So Well for Spring
I mentioned in our last post that bamboo fabric has an incredibly soft, smooth feel against the skin, which makes it especially comfortable for sleeping. It’s naturally breathable too, meaning it helps regulate temperature surprisingly well. This makes them the perfect fabric for wearing at this time of year, when it can start to get too warm at night. As someone navigating the joys of midlife hormones, I can also appreciate how breathable bamboo fabric feels – soft and cosy without becoming heavy or overly warm during those lovely peri-menopausal temperature changes.

My thoughts on the Bamboo Lace Pyjama Set
I love the way these British Boxers Bamboo lace Pyjama Set are a simple, classic pair of pyjamas, practical in every way. The V-neck line is flattering and feminine, and the added lace trim on the neckline, sleeve and trouser hem makes them feel a little more special while still being very comfortable and cosy.
British Boxers pyjamas are available in sizes XS (8) to 4XL (22). The pairs I have are both elasticated and roomy. In fact, as Izzy and I have matching pyjamas, we did mix up our pyjama bottoms once and her small size felt comfortable on me.
These pyjamas are meant to be cropped leg trousers, but as I’m under 5 feet tall, they are full length on me, which I’m happy with. The plain block colour combined with the relaxed drape gives the pyjamas the feel of a soft wide-leg jumpsuit, which I really love. Talking of colour, the peony shade feels like a softer, brighter take on classic navy, making it perfect for spring and summer. The waistband is soft and comfortable.
They’re the sort of pyjamas that instinctively make you want to light a candle, make a proper cup of coffee and slow down for ten minutes instead of rushing immediately into the day- lovely for evenings, nighttime and slow mornings
Slow Spring Mornings and the Importance of Gentle Rituals
When life is busy, I think it’s really important to relax where you can. I love it once I’m home for the evening and can get into my pyjamas, make a cuppa and relax on the sofa. I have sleep problems, so I appreciate a slow morning to wake up fully before the dog walk and school runs, too. Having a few good pairs of pyjamas I can rely on is so important, so I can throw them on and wear them out in the garden and take some time to relax before starting my busy day.
