Day 4 of Blogmas saw us going to see Peter Pan at Pembrokeshire College. I love a good Christmas Show, and this was wonderful. I far prefer seeing Peter Pan as a show, rather than as a Pantomine. There’s something special about Victorian London at Christmastime, isn’t there? The glow of the gas lamps and the comforting presence of Big Ben watching over the city. Then of course, we flew to the wonder of Neverland with Peter Pan, Wendy, John, Michael and Tinkerbell, which was exciting and magical.
The show was magical and mesmerising. I especially loved a scene where Wendy sang “Lost Boy” while the characters danced behind a white screen, creating captivating silhouettes retelling the story.
But overall, what made the experience extra special wasn’t just the beautiful setting or the magic of the story- it was sharing it with my younger girls, my family, especially poignant in a tale so rooted in the joys of childhood, about growing up, and the importance of having family.
The cast and crew, all Pembrokeshire College Performing and Production Arts Students, were all amazing- so talented! Well done to all involved! Good luck for your last two sold out performances! Thanks so much to Caitlyn for inviting me and treating me to the tickets!
Are you going to any Christmas shows? If so, what are you going to see?
