It’s Day 20 of Blogmas, a very special day for our family- it’s Isabelle’s (Izzy’s) birthday. She had a lovely day, starting with her request of Strawberry Pop Tarts for breakfast, later we had a Costa treat, then her choice of Chinese for tea, followed by a Shakey Shack treat during The Illuminated Tractor Run. It was a family celebration today, and she will celebrate with friends in the New Year as we always find her friends are busy with family the weekend before Christmas, which is understandable. There are pros and cons to having a birthday close to Christmas.

She, our youngest, turned fourteen today. The years have gone by so quickly. You can read Isabelle’s Birth Story here. Every year, I begin to panic that I’m not ready for Christmas yet. Then I remind myself that one year, I was in hospital on 20th December, recovering from a C-section. Everything turned out okay that year and will again.
The Illuminated Tractor Run
This year, The Illuminated Tractor Run, happened to fall on her birthday. So after our delicious Chinese food, we went along to watch. The Illuminated Tractor Run is a lovely annual event. Hundreds of decorated tractors take part, lighting the roads of Pembrokeshire. It’s like a winter carnival. Everyone beeps, waves, and smiles- and there are surprises like snow! There’s an amazing atmosphere. The event raises money for local charities- this year they are supporting The Catrin Vaughan Foundation, In It With Isaac and Wales Air Ambulance Charity. We were all freezing watching, so we couldn’t wait to go home and warm up afterwards.
Do you have any Christmas birthdays in your household? Do you have a local tractor run (it’s very “Pembrokeshire”, I know lol, but a reader has told me that they have a Christmas Tractor Parade in Nuneaton too so I’d love to hear about others out there)?
