Hello, It’s BlogmasAdvent Day 6 and today was a lovely day. Caitlyn has followed in the footsteps of her older sibling and is a member of our local Youth Council. They used to organise an Annual pensioners Christmas Lunch, but sadly this stopped during Covid times, but this year it was finally brought back. Members of the Youth Council have been busy for the last few months raising money to fund the costs so they could offer local pensioners a free two-course Christmas dinner and entertainment today.
So Caitlyn, along with the rest of the Youth Council and all the wonderful staff, was very busy all day. She was delighted that two special guests agreed to come along to the Pensioner’s Lunch—her Great-Grandmother, Connie, and Great-Great-Aunt Margaret. They said they had a lovely time, too. I’m so glad I asked if I could take a snap on the way in. After all the guests had enjoyed a lovely afternoon, the Youth Council sat down together and enjoyed a well deserved delicious Christmas dinner too. Thanks so much to everyone involved in organising this for giving the Youth Council this opportunity which has benefited both the local youth and pensioners in this way.
In other news, Storm Darragh is raging and a RED warning has been issued for our area and other parts of Wales and South West England. We were all sent a message from the Emergency Alert System this evening for the first-time since we were sent the test alarm last year. Everything is cancelled so we’re planning to just stay home and safe unless anyone needs our help.
