It’s Day 21 of Blogmas and Advent, so just two more days left for me to post before Christmas (as I may not publish Christmas Eve’s and Christmas Day’s posts until after Christmas. Advent is going so quickly! This evening we went to see “The Illuminated Tractor Ride” in Haverfordwest (it started in Clarbeston Road and ended at Pembrokeshire County Showground.
The Illuminated Tractor Run is a lovely annual event. Hundreds of decorated tractors take part, lighting the roads of Pembrokeshire. It’s like a winter carnival. Everyone beeps, waves, and smiles- sometimes they even play carols using their horns. There’s an amazing atmosphere. The event raises money for local charities- this year they are supporting The Catrin Vaughan Foundation and Wales Air Ambulance Charity. I think they should have a lorry collecting coins along the way too, like they do in the carnival or a text-to-donate link.
It was great fun- worth going out in the wind and rain! Thankfully it calmed down a bit while we were watching but I still felt freezing!
Have you ever seen a Christmas Tractor Run before? It’s very “Pembrokeshire”!
