It’s Blogmas Advent Day 15. I had lots of Christmas preparation planned today, but I’m really run down from the last few days so struggled to get anything done and now I don’t know where I’ll find the time to catch up. I’ve managed to stop myself getting into a complete Christmas meltdown but I’ve felt really blue today. I feel guilty about that as know that there’s always someone worse off and a lot of people are going through really difficult times at the moment and they are in my thoughts. I’m just emotional because of hormones, tiredness and illness. I will be okay. It’s just a day. It’s not worth worrying about. It doesn’t matter that ours won’t be like some people’s picture-perfect Christmas. It will be our usual chaos and full of love and things we enjoy.
One indulgence that we do have ready are our Christmas Lush bath bombs. When the kids were little, I’d always give them a “Christmas Eve” Bubble Bar and Sleep Cream to help them sleep. It was such a shame when they discontinued them. They’re older now, but Christmas traditions are hard to break. It wouldn’t be the same not seeing the Bath Bomb bowl full of Christmas goodies. I had Lush vouchers to use. We have some Sleepy Bears (full of lavender to help sleep), Magical Santas and Snow Fairies (I meant to buy Mrs Christmas but they looked similar-oops!). I restocked our Sleepy Body Cream too and I already have lots of Sleep Pillow Spray. It all smells wonderful!
If you can’t stretch to lavender bath bombs or sleep spray this year, you can always ask if friends and family have lavender growing in their garden and sprinkle some magic lavender in the bath and under their pillows on Christmas Eve. You could also put them in paper envelopes or make some lavender sachets to use time and again.
Hopefully, I can have an earlier night tonight, get a good night’s sleep and wake up feeling better and more positive tomorrow. I feel a bit better just from writing this out.
