Ask Questions
You can begin by asking your child questions to prompt their curiosity and encourage them to do the same. These can be on absolutely anything, but just be sure that they aren’t too complex.
Be Prepared for Awkward Conversations
In helping your child become more inquisitive, you may find yourself faced with difficult questions and needing to explain things like why they must go to school and where babies come from. Instead of diverting their questions and changing the topic, it’s important that you try responding to them. Of course, you will need to tailor your answers according to their stage of development and what’s appropriate for them to know at their age.
Go On Adventures
There’s more to life than what lives within the borders of your neighbourhood. There are magnificent sights to explore and experiences to chase. Going on adventures helps children see that there is more to the world, fuelling a desire to travel and learn.
Experiment
Children learn new things through experimenting and utilising their senses. If there’s something they’re intrigued by, or they have any ideas, encourage your child to put them to the test and explore them in more detail.
Challenge Their Way of Thinking
There’s more than one set way of doing things and by exploring the different options they have, you can help open their minds to a world of possibilities. Begin by presenting alternatives and asking them how else they might complete set activities.
