Today, on day 9 of Blogtober the prompt is October or Season goals. I could list a number of goals, one of them being to complete Blogtober! However, there is one that I really need to make a start on so I’m just going to list that one. I’m also just going to write a very short blog post so I can start reaching my goal immediately. Read on to find out my October Goal:
October Goal
October is a busy month and there are lots of things I want to do. I wrote my Autumn Bucket List on Day 3 of Blogtober. While writing my “Day in a Life” post on Day 5, I realised that I hadn’t yet resumed doing my workouts since taking a break from them. It’s so easy to get out of a good habit, isn’t it? When I was teaching, I was constantly on my feet, running around. Now, I work from home and sit down typing for a lot of the day (with a quick run around for chores etc in between), I also spend quite a lot of time driving the kids around- so again I’m sitting down. I do like to go for walks, but they’re mainly at a leisurely pace with lots of stopping to capture photos. I find my body just needs a daily (or frequent) aerobic and toning workout to keep it working well. This month, I’ve felt so much more lethargic, and heavier and my skin has been duller. I also find I crave more healthy food and water when I’m working out. One day I may even regain my fitness again!
- So my October SMART ( Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound) Goal is to do a Lucy Wyndham-Read workout each weekday morning, starting now!. ✔️

This is my Playlist to start today. I only set my goal to do at least one LWR workout. That way, on a bad or very busy day I can just do one of her 7-minute workouts at a minimum, but usually, I will do at least 3, depending on the length of each workout. Something is better than nothing. I will do my own warm-up and cool-down routine as I find it quicker than following hers.
The “Feel Fabulous for Summer” (I know it’s out of season-oops!) one is a full-body workout, and then I’ve got a few to concentrate on my waist and belly. I finish with the Enrique Iglesias dance. I don’t feel this one is much of a workout but I always look forward to it as it’s fun so will release some extra dopamine for the day! Sometimes I repeat the same videos, my tried and tested ones, for weeks at a time. Other times, I’m so bored I have to do a new one every day (thankfully she has lots to choose from!). Once, my core feels a bit stronger, I’ll cut one of the belly ones and choose arms or legs etc for a change. I’m hoping she’ll put up a nice autumn workout soon! I try to record my workout videos on Google Sheets. I try to make a note of which videos I enjoy (to repeat) and which ones to avoid.
What are your October goals?

Well done, do you know I haven’t been back in a pool since covid times, just the sea. I will soon. Enjoy xxx
I am totally blaming the change in weather for my lack of motivation when it comes to exercising. Good luck with doing a workout every day! I am aiming for 4 a week. x

It does make a difference and the time of year! Good luck to you too xxx
I hope it goes well, 7 minutes sounds manageable.

Thank you. Yes, when I have long periods of not doing anything, I kick myself and think I could have just done 7 min a day to keep in with it. But I’m all or nothing usually- an hour or 0! xxx
Finding a way to move more consistently is a great goal! I always feel like I have a dip in motivation when the weather changes, so I need the extra inspiration as well.
