This week we did the usual Wednesday walk with Toby and then went for lunch at Honeyborough Tea Rooms. This was our first time visiting here since it’s been taken over by new management so I was interested to find out what vegan options were on the menu.
Honeyborough Garden Centre
After walking Toby around Mead’s field, we dropped him off at home and went to Honeyborough Garden Centre. Mum has some vouchers to spend there so she’s starting to decide what to buy for her lovely garden- exciting.
Honeyborough Garden Centre is located in Honeyborough Industrial Estate, just off the Honeyborough Roundabout. The Sat Nav postcode is SA73 1SE. There is plenty of parking and it’s free.
I wish I’d taken photos of the garden centre as it’s lovely- full of gorgeous plants, garden ornaments and furniture. It’s huge and contains everything you need for your garden. Mum loved lots of things and has got lots of ideas for what she’ll be buying in the coming months.
Honeyborough Tea Room

At the back of the garden centre you will find Honeyborough Tea Room. It’s a bit like the Tardis as it seems a lot bigger on the inside! It’s gorgeous inside with stylish wallpaper, ornaments and plants. It was very busy and we hadn’t booked as we’re never sure what time we’ll be ready to sit down and eat on Wednesdays- it all depends how our morning walk goes.
The staff were so friendly and welcoming and did their best to accommodate us. They sat us in a cosy coffee area while they prepared a table.

Eat Out Vegan at Honeyborough Tea Room
I’d already decided that if they didn’t serve any vegan options that I’d have a jacket potato (with no butter) and with salad. However, once seated and looking over the menu, I was delighted to see that they offered a dairy milk alternative (oat) and a vegan meal- a vegan pulled pork burger (£9.50) – so I decided to try this. I’m sure if you book in advance and ask they could tell you of other options too and if you left off the butter and cheese could easily have a vegan salad, roll or jacket potato. It’s always a good idea to check if the soup of the day is suitable for vegans too.
While we sat and waited for our food, customers kept on coming, some were lucky enough to come at the right time and be seated but they were so busy that inevitably other people were turned away. I’d definitely advise you to book to make sure you get a table here.
Vegan Pulled Pork Burger
As I mentioned already, the staff were amazing, especially while working so hard. Our food was soon here. The Vegan Pulled Pork burger was delicious and came with a red onion chutney, lots of salad and a generous portion of chips. I hate leaving food, especially while I’m enjoying it, but I was too full to finish this as a lunch time meal. If you like large portions, you will not be disappointed!
Honeyborough Tea Rooms also serve afternoon tea for £15 a head (with at least 24 hours notice) and have a lovely selection of cakes on display. We were too full but it would be nice to pop in for coffee and cake one day after a stroll around the garden centre.
