This week I met up with Mum, Jo and Toby dog for our Wednesday walk (and lunch). We enjoyed a quick walk around Mead’s field as it’s one of Toby’s favourite places to go. Then we treated ourselves to lunch at Gingers, Milford Haven. I know I’ve blogged about it before but it really is a lovely cafe and tea room and it has great vegan options. Read on:

Walking Toby
We took Toby for a walk around the field behind Milford Haven Leisure Centre (SA73 2EE). There’s lots of space to walk and play with your dog. I love this photo of mum and Toby, they both look so happy.

Miniature Railway Track, Milford Haven
It’s quite interesting as this space is also home to Pembrokeshire Model Engineers, who usually meet up on a Wednesday, Saturdays and Sundays (please check up to date meeting days in their group). So if you plan it right, you could be lucky and see engines running on the miniature railway track.

Toby’s happy with a walk around the field, bless him.

Gingers, Milford Haven
After working up an appetite we dropped Toby off home and headed to Gingers Cafe in Milford Haven. They are actually dog friendly too but Toby’s quite a big dog to go to indoor cafes! He was quite happy to rest at home after his walk.

I had a pot of tea with soya milk and a Small Vegan Breakfast. The meat and dairy free breakfast consisted of two vegan sausages, sauteed spinach & mushrooms, egg free scramble, grilled tomato, bakery beans, toast, vegan butter and an orange juice. I enjoyed my breakfast- it;s a regular favourite of mine. The ‘small’ is definitely satisfying enough to fill you up.
They also have other vegan options, including vegan hot chocolate, sweet potato curry and rice and chocolate brownie. As well as eating in, you can also takeaway. They offer vegan Quorn burgers, vegan cheese salad baguettes and vegan sausage sandwiches. There is always plenty to choose from.
Vegan Afternoon tea is also available (book ahead at least 24 hours in advance).
They do get busy, so it’s best to book in advance. We just grab a takeaway instead if we can’t get a table, but I’m glad we got to eat in yesterday. The staff were as always welcoming and friendly,we always enjoy eating here and will be back- thanks Gingers!
