Hello all, hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. We’ve been busy so I’ve found it difficult to fit in blogging (hence me being late again for Day 3 of Blogtober). I was going to blog our “Pumpkin Picking” today, but it’s late and my bed is calling, so a quickie post from me! Here’s what we got up to this weekend:
Friday
In most of Wales, schools now finish at midday. After school Danny had a Zoom interview for an apprenticeship then we went round for lunch at Nanny’s.
Friday evening, I took Caitlyn to train for County Football. We came home to a lovely curry cooked by Dave for tea/supper.
Saturday
On Saturday, we spent the morning preparing for school on Monday, as we knew we’d be busy the rest of the weekend. Then we went to the cemetery and over to Mum’s for a film and popcorn. That evening we had a Chinese takeaway with Mum and watched some “Saturday Night Tele” together.
Sunday
This morning, Caitlyn had a home football match. We’ve had really heavy rain recently, so I wasn’t sure if it would go ahead, but the pitch was fine and the game was on. As Ceri and Lexy were down, they came to watch too. It stayed dry for the match and the sun even came out! It wasn’t a win for her team on this occasion, but they all played well and enjoyed playing, so that’s the main thing.
Straight from football, we went to Heatherton World of Activities, near Tenby in Pembrokeshire. Rebecca wanted to go there for her pre-birthday treat. We’d planned to have pizza there for lunch, but the restaurant was closed so lunch was burgers and chips (just chips for us vegetarians and vegans as they were also out of veggie burgers).
Then we went and explored their pumpkin patch and picked some pumpkins. I’ll blog about that and share the photos tomorrow. After the Pumpkin Patch, we didn’t have a lot of time as we’d booked an Escape Room. So Becca got to choose just one activity before making her way to that- she chose Pistol Shooting. Thankfully, the other credit passes we’d bought will last for six months so we’ll just use them next time.
Rebecca, Izzy, Cerys, Dave, and I attempted “The Wizard’s Lair” Escape Room, while Mum, Jo, Ceri, Lexy, and Caitlyn entered “The Captain’s Treasure Room”, which we did last time. You’ll be pleased to hear that we all escaped! It was great fun again. It’s nice now that the kids are older, we can do different activities with them
On our way home, we stopped and had a cheeky drive-thru tea as another birthday treat (it also meant no cooking and cleaning once we got home. Don’t worry, I’ll be back to cooking tomorrow!).

We stopped in our usual place to eat and were surprised to see two lovely ponies grazing on the grass as the sun set behind them. One was tethered and one loose. They were quite inquisitive and came up to us. We’ve seen them in other places, of course, but never in this particular spot before. I presume they’re fly grazing and they’ll be moved on soon, but I hope they’re okay.

Then it was home for baths, bag packing, and bed. Another week begins…
I hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend. We have been thinking of all our friends who’ve had to isolate this weekend. Hope you’re all ok. Wishing a speedy recovery to those who are ill with Covid xxx

Looks like you all had a whale of a time – great fun and excitement
It sounds like you had a great weekend.
That is great that the schools in Wales finish at midday on a Friday. My girls would love that. x
What fun, we were talking about doing an escape room last night, I think we might be researching them in our area. I’ll look forward to your pumpkin patch post.
