I don’t tend to blog about the kids’ birthdays so much nowadays but as I’m taking part in Blogtober 2021, it’s a good excuse. I was going to write about Rebecca turning 15 yesterday but I can’t miss out Caitlyn as she turned 13 two weeks ago.

I can’t believe we have three teens in the house now! Both the girl’s birthdays fell on weekdays so we celebrated them the weekend before. They both asked for days out rather than “parties” or “meals out” and considering how things are with Covid it’s easier.
Caitlyn’s 13th Birthday
Caitlyn wanted to go to Heatherton. Before Covid, we could never go anywhere near Tenby for her birthday as it was a nightmare with IRONMAN on. So, while we’re sad for the competitors that it was postponed again this year, it worked out well for Caitlyn’s plans!
She had football first in Tenby so that made the day even more perfect for her. We had pizza and burgers in Heatherton. Then went on the Go-Karts, Bumper Boats, Pistol Shooting, and Archery and then to the escape room.
We chose the “Captain’s Treasure Room” because it’s meant to be the easiest- perfect for escape room newbies like us and Caitlyn has always been interested in pirates and pirate life. We had great fun.
On her actual birthday, she had birthday croissants for breakfast, cakes to bring to school for friends, and then she bought cakes for her friends at football practice that evening too. After football, she got to have her choice of tea- Dominos pizza! It was nice as Danny was home for this. Then we watched a film of her choice.
She had mainly money for her birthday and is planning to buy a new bike. She’s also planning to do something with her friends once Covid cases in schools are lower.

Caitlyn is our independent, crazy, clever, cheeky, footballer. She still loves dogs and football!

Rebecca’s 15th Birthday
Rebecca decided she wanted to go to Heatherton too as she’d enjoyed going there for Caitlyn’s birthday. She’d invited her two best friends to come but due to Covid they couldn’t so she’ll celebrate with them again.
Rebecca also had to come to football first as Caitlyn was playing again. That wouldn’t have been her choice on her birthday, but it’s the reality of life with siblings. Then we headed to Heatherton for burgers and chips.
We visited the Heatherton Pumpkin Patch then did the shooting. That was all we had time for and then we had to make our way to the escape room.
This time we went into “The Wizard’s Lair”. We really enjoyed this one too. Caitlyn redid the pirate one with the rest of our family and still had fun.
As Rebecca’s birthday also falls on a Tuesday, it was football practice again! So she had to wait until we got home to have her birthday tea. She chose Indian Takeaway, which was delicious. We were all too full to cut and eat her birthday cake so we’ll have that tonight. She also took cakes to school for her friends and sent cakes home to her poorly friends, bless them. We also had time to have cake with family after Heatherton too which was nice, so don’t worry she’s been sung to quite a few times, much to her delight (not!).
Rebecca is kind, caring, clever, strong, always sticking up for others and passionate about her beliefs. She loves art, music, cooking, crafts and gaming.
She’s planning on buying a drawing tablet with her birthday money- I can’t wait to see what she creates with it!

Happy birthday to your daughters! Thanks for sharing.

I love Escape Rooms for birthdays. Glad to hear they both had a fun time with it.
