Well luckily for me in “Blogtober” there are no real rules- you can join in and post when you want to. Phew! I was determined to post (a personal post) every day in October, but since 11th October I’ve been missing in action!
I last joined in with a “Weekending” post on a Monday. I had a busy Tuesday and then went to the theatre on Tuesday night. I did think about staying up late Tuesday to get my review of the play Angel done straight away. However, it was already late, review posts take me ages and I had to get up really early the next day. So, I missed Tuesday!
The next day, Danny and I got up really early and took the train to Cardiff. I planned to write on the train. I published some work posts and made a good go at starting my review but didn’t manage to complete it so I missed Wednesday!
On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday I had really busy days and also lots to catch up on due to me being away on Wednesday (you only realise just how much you do, when you’re not there to do it, don’t you?). Then on Sunday, life threw us a curveball and Rebecca had a positive lateral flow test.
I know we’re lucky that we’ve gone this long without having Covid in our home or close family. We were so careful in 2020, shielding and Dave moving out etc. But with the kids back in school, Dave and Danny at work, and us all going out and about more normally it’s not surprising.
We isolated Rebecca to her room and booked PCR tests for all. Her PCR test did come back positive. She’s had sore eyes, headache, achiness, and fatigue. She was a little hot as to be expected when ill but, not a consistently high temperature. She also didn’t have a cough and hasn’t lost her sense of taste or smell. I felt fluey too but I think I was run down after a busy few days. My tests were negative.
Anyway, with sorting the Covid paperwork and phone calls, feeling ill myself, and looking after Becca, I was yet again behind on Blogtober.
We’ve had to miss lots of things we were looking forward to – football matches, seeing Ceri and Lexy (who had travelled down) and most importantly, celebrating Ceri’s Birthday and Gran’s 70th Birthday. But, it couldn’t be helped and we’re all accustomed to “missing events” nowadays, aren’t we? It’s hard to plan anything.
We should get our second PCR tests back tomorrow and as long as Rebecca’s test is negative and she no longer has symptoms it will be her last day of isolation.
Hopefully, we can have a couple of days of fresh air fun, during this half-term holiday.
I know Rebecca’s struggling energy wise so we’ll have to take it easy too.
I was really enjoying Blogtober. It was such a treat to be able to choose and write something just for myself. It’s definitely reminded me to take the time to do that (well, when I get the time …). I hope everyone is okay. Sorry for missing out on all your Blogtober posts. Five days left. I’ll take a look today, with a cuppa. Bliss…

Exciting times ahead
Oh no, so sorry Covid made your way into your home. I hope Rebecca is feeling better now. x

Thank you! We are “free” from today. She is a lot better but still weak, tired, and dizzy. Needs to build herself back up again, bless her. Hope you’re all okay xxx
