Whether you’re snacking at home or snacking on-the-go, the last thing you want is an unhealthy, bland, flavourless and all-around boring snack. Yes, healthy snacks can be delicious, and our family has a few favourites. Nobody is without snacks in our household – I’ll always make sure to drop a few snacks in everyone’s bags (myself included!) as the last thing I want is for anyone to get hungry, or worse, hangry.
Today, I’ve partnered up with Springvale Foods, wholesale fine foods, to talk about one of my favourite snack brands which I can always find in their online “cupboards” – Tooty Fruity. This UK-based snack brand tracks down delicious snacks from around the world, including dried fruits, raw nuts, roasted nuts and sweetened fruits. At Springvale Foods, you can buy Tooty Fruity snacks and many other foods in bulk, meaning that you will never run out of your favourite foods!
Tooty Fruity Jumbo Prunes
As this article on Healthline explains, “Prunes are a good source of energy, and they don’t cause a rapid hike in blood sugar levels. Prunes have a high sugar content, which allows them to be dried without fermenting. They’re also high in fiber, which can help you regulate your bowels and your bladder.” Prunes are fantastic snacks for both you and your little ones!
Tooty Fruity Luxury Nut Mix
Nuts have always been my go-to snack. They are delicious, filling and high in energy. Dietitian Victoria Taylor commented in an article on British Heart Foundation how nuts can be a good choice as a substitute for foods high in saturated fat and sugar (such as biscuits, chocolates or cakes). “The high protein and fibre content makes them a satisfying snack and they contain nutrients such as vitamin E, potassium and magnesium.” However, it’s important to watch portion sizes as nuts have a high-fat content.
Tooty Fruity Banana Chips
Banana chips are a favourite of mine and oh-so-healthy (and delicious!). A healthier alternative to potato chips, banana chips are a great on-the-go snack. Plus, bananas are a great source of potassium, are rich in fibre folic acid and vitamin B6. Have you ever tried banana chips?
If you are more of a “make-your-own” snack person, Springvale Foods also stock almost everything you need to make your favourite snacks. Adventures of a Yorkshire Mum recently shared a blog post about Springvale Foods’ range of Shipton Mill flours, which can be used to create fabulous cakes, loaves, pastries and much more!
