Ten Yoga Mat Designs We Love
During the first lockdown, we saw the number of people practising yoga at home increase. This was partly due to the closure of leisure centres and community buildings but also due to an influx of people beginning yoga for the first time. Yoga has many benefits for both our mental and physical health so it’s no wonder why so many people took up this activity during this isolating and quite stressful time.
Yoga is for everyone, from beginner kids practising Cosmic Kids to the yoga gurus and everyone in-between. One thing that all yogis have in common (in addition to flexibility and a zen personality of course!) is they all need a yoga mat. For years I used a plain one gifted to me from an event, but when I needed to replace my worn mat, I became aware of all the gorgeous yoga mat designs that are now available out there. As William Morris famously said:

1. Mandala Yoga Mat
- White = purity, unity
- Blue = protection, tranquility
- Red = fire, passion

2. Pebbles
Perhaps you dream of doing yoga on the beach? I love to stand on pebbles and feel the sand between my toes. For the days when you can’t get to the beach enjoy the calm and peace of using your “Balance Yoga Mat”.

3. Out of This World

4. I Can See a Rainbow

5. Elephant
I just love this Big Colorful Elephant Yoga Mat as I love (and collect) all things elephant. You could choose a mat with a print of your favourite animal. Elephants remind us that we all have inner strength and grace.

6. A Fun Kid’s Print
This Baby Giraffe Watercolor Yoga Mat makes a lovely design for a kid’s mat. I know my kids would love to use this for their Cosmic Kids adventures.

7. Your Spirit Animal
How about choosing a yoga mat design of your spirit animal. As a spirit animal, the Hummingbird represents the enjoyment of life and the lightness of being. Hummingbirds do not simply flap their wings up and down, but instead move them in a pattern of the infinity symbol, or a figure of eight; this is why they are thought to be symbols of eternity.

9. A Lotus Flower Yoga
This beautiful Lotus Yoga Mat not only looks great but it holds a lot of meaning too. The lotus flower blooms on the surface of the water with its roots deep in the mud – a symbol of light and emergence from darkness.

10. Yoga at Sunrise
For those early birds that love yoga at sunrise, this Pastel Sunrise Yoga Mat will encourage you to get up bright and early each morning.
All of these designs are available from Pixels.com.
Which design would you choose?
These different designs are so pretty. I don’t do youga but I’d love any of these for when I do floor exercises.
