You really don’t need a huge overhaul to try and make your home look way more expensive. In fact, there are a few easy tips and tricks that you can use to make your home look way more luxurious for less.
Freshen Things Up
A fresh coat of paint can really work wonders for your room. You need to be careful with colour choices though. A very rich wall will require a lot of light furniture to balance it. Certain shades of white might look bland so try and find one which has a good level of matte to gloss ratio. If you are stuck, then it is very easy for you to try and find other options that will give you a result just as great.
Flowers
Nothing can quite compare to the feel and look of fresh flowers. They will spruce up your home and they can be placed anywhere in the home. You can place them on your bedside table, or even on your kitchen counter. If you aren’t sure how to get the best result out of your flowers, then you need to try and pick one colour if you can. Elegant white orchids for example are the ideal choice if you have solid oak furniture and they add an element of luxury too. Pink lilies are also another option if you want to try and get a great result out of your décor in general. If you want to get an even better result, then try and look up sculptures for sale too.
A Bright Idea
Try and switch out any standard light fixtures in the home if you can. The great thing about modern chandeliers is that they can create a focal point in the room, and they can also make your dining room look far more elegant too. Replacing your standard lampshades with ones that are more eye-catching will also dress up your space much more.
Hang High
Luxurious homes tend to have ceilings that are very high. If you want a trick that will help you to create an optical illusion, then hang your standard fabric curtains as high as you can. The higher the curtains are, the higher your ceiling will look.
Match Everything
If you can, you need to try and buy matching chrome or silver picture frames. When you do, make a special effort to make sure that they are all different sizes. You can then get a really great result and this can work in your favour. If you can, avoid gold though as this can look garish and you may find that it looks cheap too.
Add some Mirrors to the Wall
Adding a large item like a mirror will instantly open up the room. One general rule when placing mirrors is to put them across from the entrance to the room or even to have them next to the wall with a window. The great thing about this is that it will really reflect the light coming in.
