So we’re almost into the third week of the New Year but here- finally- are our snapshots of New Year’s Eve. It’s fair to say that this year, 2020, is not the positive year of hope we thought it would be- so far. We’ve already experienced loss, illness and the bad news seems to keep on coming in our community. But even when life is tough, there are happy moments to find and we’ll continue to share our happy times over on our blog, as one day in the future, these memories will be all that are left (sorry, I’m not meaning to be morbid!). Here are our snapshots of New Year’s Eve:
We went and spend New Year’s Eve with our family. Poor Dave was still in a lot of pain but he managed to come over later to celebrate with us so we managed to get a family photo (possibly the first one of 2019! We don’t do well getting photos of all of us together.).
Danny’s friends came over too!
We ordered Chinese and Indian to eat instead of a party buffet and then drank the New Year in!
Ceri and Lexy were “home” (our end) for New Year’s Eve.
At midnight, we linked arms and sang Auld Lang’s Syne together, then Lexy let the new year into mum’s house.
Then, we went outside to wish Happy New Year to the street.
We usually go to Granny and Grampy’s house to wish them a happy new year but they were kindly dog sitting Sid and felt it was best that we didn’t pop in and confuse him as he might have expected to go home with us then. We were staying at Mum’s house with Toby dog so we couldn’t bring him there!
We saw Gary and Janet briefly too, so it was a nice night with family and friends. There was no time to play games- New Year’s Eve seems to be really long when you’re young but flies by as an adult but we did have a dance!
We’re sending love to everyone having a tough start to 2020 and here’s to the happy times too! Hope there’ll be lots of them!
Happy New Year!
