Izzy is now 8! Her birthday fell on a school day but she had the lovely treat of going to see the Christmas Pantomime, Aladdin, at the Torch Theatre (“Oh, yes she did!”). During the performance, she had a shout out the cast and audience sang Happy Birthday to her and the other birthday girls and boys!
Her birthday morning was rushed so we quickly stuck a candle in her birthday breakfast of choice- quick pancakes!
She celebrated her birthday with her siblings and Granny and Grampy on the Friday and on Saturday we went to see Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. We all loved the film and all the nods to the Star Wars films that came before- it was amazing!
Then it was over to Nanny’s house for more celebrating and more presents! She’s also been promised a summer (half birthday) day out with school friends. We find the end of December is too busy to arrange a birthday event.
“Happy Birthday to YOU!”
Izzy is kind, caring and cuddly. She has such a deep level of empathy for an eight year old. She loves stories and drawing. She’s very funny and has an amazing laugh. One funny fact about her is she loves drinking shots! Non alcoholic of course and it’s all down to the bar scene in “The Greatest Showman” but it’s quite funny to see her slam her shot glass down while she drinks milk or pop!
As our “baby” is now growing up, this represents our whole family growing older and moving into a different era really. When Danny was 8, he was our eldest with three younger sisters (one being baby Izzy!). I will always miss those baby years but I know how lucky we are to to see our children grow up, so all we can do is look forward to the years that come.
Happy birthday, Izzy!
