When you have a brood of little ones to chase after as well as a full-time job and other daily responsibilities, keeping your home tidy is often the last thing on your mind. As a busy parent, it’s hard to stay on top of the cleaning, as you likely have a million and one other things to focus on at any time. However, an excess of grime in your house could lead to the growth of bacteria, which in turn could make your children fall ill and create even more problems that might otherwise have been avoided. So, if you want to find out more about what you can do to keep a clean family home and retain your sanity at the same time, then read on to uncover some of the best top tips that you can utilise today!
Get Your Kids Involved
Getting your kids involved in the cleanliness of your home can have a huge impact, as it’s often them who create most of the mess. Instilling some tidy thoughts might just help them to reduce the trail of destruction that usually follows them, as if you take the time to explain how much you will appreciate things like putting toys away and making their beds, they will be much more inclined to do these tasks on their own. And, if that doesn’t work, you can make a kind of cleaning rota: your entire home should get cleaned from top to bottom at least once a week, so create a table of some sort and include each different job whilst leaving space for a name, and explain that everyone must muck in together and help out to make a nice environment for you all to live in.
Enlist Professional Help
There are some parts of your home that can only be cleaned properly by the professionals and this can save you a whole load of time energy, whilst ensuring that you get the best end result. Material items like curtains cannot be washed at home, especially not in the washing machine, so it’s a good idea to begin seeking out some local dry cleaning services that you can try. Find a reputable organisation like Devine Rug Care that can add a new lease of life to your expensive floor accessories without causing any damage. Taking these responsibilities off your shoulders can also help to free up some of your time to focus on other more suitable cleaning tasks!
Stock Up On Product
Let’s be honest, there’s nothing worse than finally finding 5 minutes to do a quick clean only to discover that you have next to know product in the house to get the job done. Every missed opportunity can be so irritating, and you may not get a chance to squeeze in any tidying for another few days – that’s why it’s so important that you can stock up on the different products you need, so that you can take advantage of every spare moment you have.
I find the only way to keep on top of cleaning is to do some each day. I also do at least one load of laundry each day, and if the laundry basket is empty, then I wash one of the items on my seasonal list, where I wash things that are not required in the current season. Winter duvets, throws, anoraks, wooly hats, scarves, etc. are washed in the summer, and outdoor seat cushions, picnic blankets, summer duvets, etc. in the winter.
Great idea, especially during this time of year where it’s easier to catch a cold.
Its so important to keep on top of these things and make take to clean but I know how easy it is to get bogged down with it all
I find that helping a friend or a friend helping me cleaning while catching up is a great way to get going instead of just sitting having a coffee & a chat we have a chat while we clean then the next week I’ll go to her’s & we’ll do the same.
Some great tips and tricks, thank you 🙂
