Once you’ve finally sorted your families finances out, maybe with the help of a split home loan it might be time to start thinking about a holiday. But sometimes life gets in the way of saving for a family holiday, with the day to day running of the household, the many different emergencies that always crop up at the wrong times and the ever-increasing demands by the children for more things they ‘need.’ But that said, there are many different types of holidays, that the children will love just as much, that will be kind to your bank balance as well! Just think back to your own childhood, which was your favourite holiday?
Caravan/ Camping
Depending on your budget, there are some amazing opportunities, usually at seaside resorts, to hire a caravan for a week or two, children absolutely love this little home away from home, and it’s a little adventure for them that usually involves clubhouses and junk food. Plus staying up way past their bedtime singing and having fun, these are the holidays you will remember in years to come. Don’t forget to visit the arcade on these holidays and see how many attempts it takes to win a teddy at the claw machine!
If you’re feeling extra adventurous, then get the tent out and pack the car up! You can find some incredible deals on some beautiful picturesque places, and also some top-rated tourist attractions too. But if that doesn’t suit you and your family, try glamping instead, not quite camping but not quite caravanning either. The best of both worlds!
Visiting Family
You can kill two birds with one stone with this one, you’ve been meaning to visit your family for a long time but just haven’t managed to find the time, why not book to see them at the same time as your next annual leave? Hopefully, you can all enjoy spending time together with your family, catch up with some old traditions, and share memories with the children. All this while having a lovely break at the same time, what’s not to love about that? Just remember to offer to return the favour when your family members are looking for holidays in your part of the world too!
Day Trips
The other alternative you could choose is to not actually sleep somewhere different at all and make day trips instead. Depending on where you live, you can really get to experience the days out knowing you aren’t having to fork out a fortune on the hotel just for sleeping in. You can also get money off theme park entry if you collect the vouchers on your cereal packets. Always keep your eyes peeled for special offers because the better the value, the more day trips you can afford! A summer of fun for everyone.
So as you can see there are plenty of alternative options to keeping up with the Jones’ and if you can’t quite manage to take the children to Florida this year that’s absolutely fine, children love spending time with their family and friends, all you need is a bit of a change of scenery and you’re well on the way to those holiday vibes!
Great ideas Thankyou – love the great outdoors
Not sure that I would visit family lol
