At Easter time we like to buy the kids gifts that will last longer than chocolate eggs (don’t worry they still get enough of them). I like to buy them practical things they’ll need for Spring and Summer- such as sun hats and sun glasses and also a toy to play with. This year, we were sent a selection of new toys from Basic Fun that would make perfect springtime gifts- a Cutetito, Little Lucky Lunchbox and a My Little Pony Retro- take a look:
Cutetitos
Cutetitos are a range of adorable, stuffed animals wrapped and hidden in a burrito blanket ready to be unrolled and discovered! Based on the current trend of pet owners wrapping their pets in blankets like a burrito, now kids of all ages can collect Cutetitos and roll their own pet into a burrito! Danny is a huge fan of Mexican food and would have loved these when he was younger.
Cutetitos arrive packaged in a blind bag so there is the element of surprise- which Cutetito will you unwrap? Will it be mild, medium or spicy? There are 12 different Cutetitos to collect.
We unwrapped Despacito. All Cutetitos come with a burrito blanket and Pet Collector card with additional information about your pet including its species, name, birthday and favourite quotito!
We were happy to find out that Despacio shares Aunty Ceri’s birthday- 4th October. Izzy keeps calling them twins!
Despacio is a Slothito.
Our Slothito has one chilli rating, meaning he’s “mild”. His favourite quote is, “I’m as chill as a Chili Pepper!”
Cutetitos make unique cuddly toys. They are collectable but they also make great one off gifts. They’re cute and cuddly and it’s fun to wrap and unwrap them in their burrito blanket.
Cutetitos RRP £9.99, available from all good toy stores. Suitable for ages 3+
Little Lucky Lunchboxes
Little Lucky Lunchboxes are cute fun lunchtime tins full of surprises.
Izzy couldn’t wait to open hers to find out what was inside.
There are ten different lunch boxes to collect full of 50 lunchtime surprises.
Izzy had the Sushi tin. Inside the tin she found a Hamburger and Berry Cola can. Inside the burger she found a Cow and inside the can there was an Orange Slice sticker.
She began to tick off the items she’s collected so far. These would make great toys to swap and collect.
I like the way the way this product comes with minimal packaging. It’s also handy that all of the lunchtime surprises can be stored in the tin. This is a great toy for travelling or carrying around with you.
Little Lucky Lunchboxes are suitable for children aged 3+, RRP £7.
My Little Pony – Retro- Rainbow Collection
I have to admit, I am so excited about the new release of retro style My Little Pony. I have been hoping for this for years! Now to celebrate 35 years of My Little Pony- they are back! They are amazing and will be loved by both adults and children alike.
Izzy has been sent Trickles from the Rainbow Collection. There are six Rainbow Ponies to collect including: Tickle, Flutterbye, Confetti, Pinwheel and Starflower. Even the packaging is retro and cute. It all just brings back so many happy memories.
Each pack comes with a pony, comb, ribbon and sticker.
Just take a look at that raised 80’s style sticker! I love it!
Isn’t Trickles a beauty?
My Little Pony are great fun to groom and play with.
We bought Trickles to play with mine and Jo’s original ponies. She’ll get on well with the girls new ponies too of course. They all live in one big stable box quite happily together.
My Little Pony make great toys and gifts for children. They can never have too many and it doesn’t matter if you buy one that someone already has- the more the merrier. They’re bright and colourful and encourage kids to care and have fun. I really want the whole collection of retro ponies for myself…
My Little Pony Rainbow are suitable for children aged 3+. RRP £12.99. There are 6 ponies in Rainbow Series 1, 6 ponies in Rainbow Series 2, six ponies in Classic Series 1, six Ponies in Classic Series 2 and five ponies in Classic series 3.
Which toys would you like to give or receive this Spring- a Cutetito, Little Lucky Lunchbox or My Little Pony Rainbow Collection? Did you have My Little Pony when you were younger? Which is your favourite?
