Being a parent is not easy. It is even more difficult when you have to bring up your child on your own. Of course, there are so many different reasons why you may be a single mum. Perhaps you and the baby’s father were never together? There are then those who have simply fallen out of love with the person they had a child with, as well as those who have tragically lost their partner. You may even still be with your partner, even though you know it is not right, and you are looking for some inspiration to give you the motivation to do things on your own. First adopting Wyatt in 2007, and then Levi in 2010. Just like you and I, she faces the difficulties that come with trying to work and raise children at the same time. However, she said every decision she makes is with her children in mind and informed by their presence in her life because “that’s what all moms do.”
January Jones – You may know January Jones from Mad Men. When she announced that she was expecting her first baby in April 2011, the media went rife trying to figure out who the father was. However, after the birth of her child, January spoke about the situation in a rare interview. She said she knew that she was going to be raising her son alone. She acknowledged that she accepted this and knew about it from the start, and so she prepared herself for it mentally, which made her excited for life as a single mum.
Katie Holmes – We have all heard about Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise’s relationship, from his declaration of love on Opera to the constant speculation about the impact of Scientology on their relationship breakdown. Sadly, Katie’s marriage resulted in a trip to a family law solicitors office, but she did not let her daughter Suri suffer.
