On Friday Rebecca turned 12! My little girl, our eldest daughter and the biggest sister (but always Danny’s little sister!) is growing up. In many ways she already seems older than twelve to me but she’ll always be my little girl. We had quite a hard week as Danny was in hospital an hour away, with Dave staying with him. His health was our priority at the time and I know Rebecca was very worried about him. We did consider postponing Rebecca’s birthday plans but thankfully he was discharged and home in time for us to go ahead with them and we’re very grateful that he was well enough to join in too.
In the morning she had time for a mini cake alongside her breakfast and opened a couple of her presents. She was so excited to go to school, to see her friends and share cake with them! She had a busy day in school, then after school Surf Club and had to rush to get to her own “Pizza and Bowling Party”with friends and family- it’s a busy life when you’re 12.
I love this photo of Isabelle, taken on Rebecca’s birthday morning. I’m not sure whether one of the kids took it or if she used the timer but it’s so pretty!
Pizza and Bowling
She had a fun time with her friends and sisters bowling. Danny also played a game with his friends.
Some of the kids and adults had a game of pool too!
There was of course more cake for the birthday girl!
Rebecca and her best friend (who turns 12 today herself!).
We’re so pleased that Great Granny and Grampy were able to come along…
..as well as lots of her lovely family- her aunties, uncles, great aunty, Granny, Grampy and Nanny! As always I forgot to get a photo of myself! I must start doing that or the kids will find it so hard to find photos of me in years to come!
Then on Sunday we went to Rebecca’s choice of days out- Hilton Court Gardens as she loves playing in the playhouses there with her friend. I shall blog about that soon!
I hope you you had a lovely weekend too- what did you get up to?
