The summer was over in a flash before we even managed to tame our unruly garden or build our new shed (sorry neighbours). With the nights drawing in, there’s not enough “spare” daylight hours for us to complete the work. If you’re in the same situation or unable to do the work yourself for other reasons it may be time to consider calling the gardeners in. It would be a dream come true for someone else to complete the work so you can manage to just maintain your garden and have time to enjoy it. Read on to find out how hiring a gardener could benefit you:
Garden Design
If you’ve just moved into a new house or your garden needs a complete overhaul, you could consult a garden designer. One of my guilty pleasures is watching garden design programs. The garden designers are so inspirational. They listen to the homeowners needs and design a dream garden to meet their needs. They’re so good at creating different “areas” inside the garden rather than just the traditional hedge, lawn and flower bed design that many gardens have. They will also bear in mind the colours you’d love to see in your garden all year through and can plan a planting schedule for you to continue to use even when their work is finished. Garden design is not cheap but it can be valuable for the benefits to your lifestyle as well as adding value to your house.
Landscaping
If you have a larger area to work with or just need to alter the current design of your garden consider calling a landscaping expert. As well as doing many of the jobs that gardeners do, such as planting flower beds, they can also lay paths and a patio or decking, perhaps you’ve always dreamed of a pond or water feature or do you need steps installed on a hilly part of your garden? Then you require a professional landscaper. Again, landscaping is not cheap but it can increase the value of your home and a good landscaper can even increase energy efficiency in your home by planting the trees in a certain way. A landscaped garden designed for you is sure to bring you joy and increase the hours that you spend outdoors which in turn will increase your happiness as well as your vitamin D levels!
Get a Gardener
Perhaps you just need a gardener to help you maintain your garden. Maybe a one off service will be all you need and then you can manage to keep up with your gardening tasks once more or you may need regular garden maintenance. Whatever the service you need make sure you shop around and get garden quotes. Before choosing your gardener get local recommendations and read reviews of their services. Have a chat with the gardener in person and check that they have the qualifications and insurance to suit your needs.
Hiring a gardener will get your dream garden created a lot faster than trying to fit in the work needed on dry evenings, weekends and days off (why does it always rain during days off?). A well maintained garden will increase the value of your home and more importantly the quality of your home life.
