Sorry I’m overdue in Life Lately posts. Even cutting them down to monthly I’ve already missed out March, April and May! I will try and do a quick recap but for now here’s a quick weekend post. Sorry about the grainy phone photos. It was one of those relaxed weekends where we only took quick phone snaps but these are still everyday memories to treasure.
On Friday we dropped Rebecca off to Guides for a night away in Newport, ready to visit London to watch the Trooping of the Colour parade in honour of the Queen’s 92nd birthday. It’s a wonderful experience for Rebecca but I missed her so much!
We quickly popped to Dave’s work before heading home and managed to squeeze in a cuddle with Dodge the dog. He really thought he was coming home with us, bless him.

Friday night I went out to watch local band, Honeyhead play with my sisters Ceri and Jo and Erica. It was a really fun night!
On Saturday it was Founder’s Day in our town (actually it’s Founder’s Week with lots of activities on!). Firstly though I had a lazy morning watching Trooping of The Colours with endless cups of tea hoping for a chance to spot Rebecca and the other Pembrokeshire Guides. I was so happy when I saw them on the tele! Hello Guides!
We quickly popped to town to see some Founder’s Day celebrations then went to the Torch Theatre to watch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom with Dave- we’ve been looking forward to this movie for so long and it did not disappoint.
Four years after the destruction of the Jurassic World theme park, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing return to the island of Isla Nublar to save the remaining dinosaurs from a volcano that’s about to erupt.
They soon encounter terrifying new breeds of gigantic dinosaurs while uncovering a conspiracy that threatens the entire planet…
If you haven’t seen it yet and are planning to watch make sure you wait until the very end as there is a stinger after the credits. The sequel is going to be a good one!
Saturday night we picked Rebecca up, very happy to have our girl home again.
On Sunday, we popped to Nanny’s house to see Aunty Ceri before she went back to Newport. Then that afternoon Dave took the girls down to our local beach so Danny could revise in peace.
They had good fun paddling, swimming, playing with shells and exploring the beach.
After revising Danny headed down to join them for a break while I got some work done. It was so handy to have an hour to myself at the weekend- I got a lot more done that I do with the kids around!
Of course he was straight in the water making up for lost time.
Then they all came home for tea, baths, stories and bed before a full week of school and exams ahead of us!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend xxx
