Well, we’ve been spoilt with all the royal celebrations lately haven’t we? A birth, a birthday and a wedding…lots of reasons to celebrate and party (not that we need an excuse). In order to mark the birth of Prince Louis on 23rd April (2018) Isabelle was sent a Baby Annabell Brother Doll and some royal goodies to review.
The Baby Annabell Brother Doll (sometimes called the Alexander Doll but ours is called Louis!) is an 18″ interactive doll, he comes with a dummy, bib, bottle, nappy and pendant. He’s wearing a soft blue romper suit and hat (other outfits are available to buy) and he requires 3 AA batteries (not included).
In Isabelle’s goody box there was a crown and jewels so she decorated this for Prince Louis (and worn it herself for safe keeping as we’re sure he’s as generous as his Great Grandma the Queen and would lend his valuable jewels out too as she does). This doll is the perfect baby size for cuddling- easy to handle but with a solid baby weight.
The Baby Annabell Brother Doll acts like a real baby, he will gurgle happily and babble to you. He will settle with a dummy, or if he’s hungry his bottle, he moves his mouth realistically and will close his eyes and fall off to sleep- cue cute snoring sounds!
When he’s hungry or thirsty, put on his bib and feed him his bottle (filled with water). You need to place this firmly in his mouth, then squeeze the bottle, he will move his mouth and drink the drink. It’s very realistic to feeding a real baby- you need practice latching on but then both get the hang of it!
After feeding, or when he is feeling unsettled you can gently wind him and he will burp (always to the amusement of Isabelle).
Introducing His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge!
Isabelle introduces Baby Annabell’s Brother Prince Louis to the world our family Lion King style!
Whatever your views are of the Royal Family, they currently act as future place markers in history. I’m glad that since the Succession to the Crown Act in 2013 Prince Louis doesn’t get to piggyback over Princess Charlotte who is currently fourth in line to the throne just because he is a boy. Prince Louis is fifth in line to the crown.
Let them eat sweets!
Isabelle celebrated the birth of Prince Louis with her Baby Annabell “It’s a boy!” sweets!
Belated congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate on the birth of their baby boy (I’m sure they read this blog after all!).
The Baby Annabell Brother Doll (Alexander) is available from all good toy shops and is currently on sale for £49.99 (currently £48.99 Amazon). He is suitable for ages 3 years and up. For younger children consider the Baby Annabell My First doll which is suitable from age 1 and currently on sale for £12.99.
