I haven’t received a beauty box in so long therefore I’m very excited to share my review of the May Glossybox with you. This month Glossybox have curated a special “Daydreamer” design and all of the products are cruelty free! Take a look:
When i was teaching full time (and had less kids) I used to subscribe to beauty boxes but as I cut down on my hours (and had more kids) budget cuts were made and subscriptions were cancelled. It is such a treat and really exciting to receive special post like this full of beauty goodies!
The “Daydreamer” box is designed in soft, pastel hues to portray a sense of relaxation and tranquillity- it’s so pretty and definitely a keeper! In case you’re new to Glossybox- Glossybox is a monthly subscription box that contains five beauty products all packaged beautifully in an iconic Glossybox. Glossybox costs from £10 per box (plus £3.25 postage and packaging) and you save money if you take out a year long plan. A subscription would make a great gift for the beauty lover in your life.

Unboxing the Daydreamer Glossybox
What’s in the Box?
I couldn’t wait to see what was inside. I only use cruelty free products and tend to stick to the same brands as I know they’re guaranteed to be cruelty free. Therefore this box was a great way for me to be introduced to new cruelty free brands and products.
As there was an extra gift there were actually 6 products in the Daydreaming Glossybox meaning this £10 box (plus postage and packaging) has a worth of approximately £65, so it’s definitely worth while money wise if you want to treat yourself or try new products.
A Look at the Beauty Products
Just for Feet – Jelly Foot Soak
So regular readers know how much care I take over my feet- I get really achy legs so regularly soak my feet. I tend to just use Epsom salts and a drop of bath foam so was delighted to receive a luxury Jelly Foot Soak– Soothe with Lavender & Lemongrass from Gelicity (usual price £9.99 pack of 3).
“Your feet are precious; they carry you every day and help you to maintain your posture. They also suffer the consequences of narrow or high heel shoes for the sake of beauty and can become sore and tired from standing all day, walking or running long distances.
Give your feet the attention they really deserve by pampering them with the Gel Spa’s Luxury Foot Soak. The Soak helps to revive your feet, allowing you to concentrate on soothing them and ensuring they’re in top shape.
The Foot Soak Collection was developed to bring your feet back to life. The thousands of moisturising gel beads gently massage all of the sensitive areas of the feet. Match your foot soak with your needs and enjoy the bliss of true relaxation. The Luxury Gel Foot Soak Spa Collection is environmentally safe, contains no preservatives or parabens and is non-irritant.”
I have tried this foot soak out already and it’s really lovely- it feels so relaxing and comfortable to rest your feet in a bowl of warm gel- it’s amazing. The only problem was the kids also loved it and wanted to dip their feet in too (I will buy more!). I’ve since found out that Gelicity is a Welsh product too!
Maria Nila True Soft Shampoo & Conditioner
Our next two products are Maria Nila’s True Soft Shampoo (£3.98/100ml, £12.98/350ml) and True Soft Conditioner (£4.99/100ml, £13.99/300ml).
“Reduce frizz and fight static electricity with Maria Nila True Soft Shampoo and Conditioner. A gentle formula for dry hair that softens, moisturises and strengthens. Contains smoothing argan oil and colour guard complex, which protect hair and reduce the loss of colour associated with washing, heat styling, UV rays and free radicals.”
We were sent the travel size (100ml bottles) so I’m saving mine for our weekend away. So far I love the packaging and the product smells very fresh- like cucumber. I have very dry hair and struggle finding good vegan cruelty free shampoos so can’t wait to try these products.
Kueshi Double Effect Make Up Remover
The Kueshi Double Effect Make Up Remover is a full size product (£10.50/100ml). It’s pretty cool, you can’t see from the photo but the bottom liquid is blue and the top layer clear (due to oil rising). It says make up remover but it’s actually more of an eye make up remover but also suitable for other sensitive areas such as lips. It’s perfect for this time of year when we’re wearing more waterproof mascara. I find I get dry eyelids at the moment so this moisturising product felt like a treat. It’s great for removing heavy eye make up and deep rich lip stains after a night out.
“Make light work of removing your smokey eye or your bold lip with this two-phase makeup remover from Kueshi. Combining a gentle lotion with an oil-rich liquid, it sweeps away even the toughest of makeup (yep, even waterproof formulas) without drying out your delicate eye area or irritating your complexion. In fact, thanks to the addition of chamomile it leaves your skin feeling pampered.”
Trifle Cosmetics Praline Palette
Trifle Cosmetics are a brand that I am familiar with and I was so excited to see a palette, the Praline Palette (£15.55), within my Glossybox- this made the Glossybox worth the price of the box alone! Trifle are such a fun, vegan, cruelty free brand witch the cutest packaging.
“A playful palette of 6 intense, multifunctional eye shadows that can be used wet or dry. The intense, vibrant shades range from a neutral bronze to wearable khaki and deep eggplant. Formulated with creamy, coated micronized pigments to reduce shadow fall-out, these unique powders are hot-pressed into their godets for a strong yet velvety smooth texture. Comes complete with a large mirror and double-ended sponge applicators.”
The colours are fabulous. I’ve been sticking to the bronze and khakis during the day but can’t wait to try the deep egglant shade out. The packaging is great quality and small enough to pop in your holiday make up bag too.
We Are Tea- Earl Grey
Lastly, the extra little gift was a We are Tea Earl Grey teabag (£2.99/15) – very apt to sip with afternoon tea while watching the recent Royal Wedding coverage! I’m more a fan of English Breakfast than Earl Grey normally but did enjoy this aromatic blend. Each teabag is biodegradable (so important as we all try to cut down on waste) and We Are Tea belong to the Ethical Tea Partnership.
This fancy blend of Keemun, Darjeeling, Ceylon & Assam is sure to give you a sophisticated boost. With a delicate aroma of bergamot fruit and a sprinkling of blue cornflowers from Iran, this strong black tea offers a refreshing infusion with a distinctive aroma and subtle hint of lemon.
Overall Thoughts
I really love this Glossybox and would definitely want a subscription if every month was cruelty free. It’s a great way to try new products and have a lovely treat each month. If you like to buy new products then it could save you money in the long run too. I am really happy with the quality of the products in this box- I especially love the foot soak and the palette has already made it’s way into my makeup bag.
