Whilst having a dog provides you with happiness and companionship, it comes with a lot of responsibility. It’s life is in your hands, and you need to ensure you constantly take care of it. Whether you’re a new dog owner looking for advice, or simply want to brush up on your knowledge, the following are three steps you can take to become a more responsible owner.
-
Watch What They Eat
-
Nutrition is just as important to a dog as it is to us. You need to be conscious of how much you’re feeding your dog and what you’re feeding them. This is a problem that many dog owners need to tackle. For example, 47% of dog owners surveyed by Tails had no idea how many calories their dog should be eating. You can get more of an insight on this by looking at their research Dog Food: Are We Feeding Too Much?

Clean Up After Them!
-
Being a responsible dog owner isn’t always about looking out for them alone. Always pick up dog waste and keep them on a leash in areas that request it. By keeping plastic bags with you when you go out and researching the walking area, you’ll be a much more responsible owner.
-
Train them
-
This is your dog. You’re responsible for what they do and how they behave. If you want your dog to be well-behaved and social around others, give them some basic training.
If you want to be more responsible, take on board the above simple steps. They’re easy to implement and you’ll be more than rewarded by your loving pet.

Sadly not everyone adheres to these golden rulesReally frustrating!
Wish everyone would do this
I agree with comments above. Every school run evolves us avoiding dog mess and one day not so long ago my little one slipped in it and landed on it and then stood in more further down. I was absolutely tamping!
