Do you buy on a whim or do research before you make your purchases? I spend a lot of time reading reviews of big money items before parting with my pennies (make that hard earned pounds actually) and as well as being an essential part of the process (it’s also part of the fun of the “spend” (not to mention I happen to be the Queen of procrastination!)
When choosing our first family 7 seater MPV when we had outgrown our typical 5 seater car, I took to Which? to explore all my options. It was so useful and I could compare the features that were really important to me like the amount of boot space (it had to fit the travel system), how many car seats I could fit in a row safely and the all important price.
Speaking of Travel Systems, I read all the reviews on Which? before I made my final decision (we went for a Graco Travel System in the end and even purchased a Graco Double Travel system when Rebecca and Caitlyn were “baby and toddler” together (yes I was once in the “two under two” club with an additional five year old) and we repurchased a Graco Travel System for Isabelle years later!
We’ve outgrown the pushchair and travel system days but still use the Which? Car Seat Guide (they crash test Car Seats and have also written a handy fitting guide). One day we may even progress to using the renowned Which? University website!
Which? have a really handy Baby and Child section which covers all your consumer needs from pregnancy and beyond. Just recently a friend of mine queried on Facebook if the cheap children’s paracetamol that she found in the bargain shops was as good as the well known brand “Calpol”. A quick search on Google and I found a great article comparing Calpol to the own brand versions. Which? researched the price and the ingredients of each medicine and I was surprised at which brand used the most colouring and additives to be honest.
