Each month I’ll share with you our favourite pieces in the world of home interiors. Here’s what we’re loving for the home in September from coastal inspired sofas to cushions with a sprinkle of fairy dust:
Rebecca needed a bedside table. We chose this Storage Side Table from George at Asda. It’s sleek, stylish and practical too. She has room for storage in the white base and an oak effect lid to place her lamp, glasses and book each night. It’s a bargain at £25 and could be used in a variety of ways around the house.
The Monsoon Amber and Frankincense Candle and Diffuser (both £17) are currently filling our living room with gorgeous fragrance. Since our stay at Clydey Cottages I have a thing for diffusers (in addition to my candle addiction not in place of). Autumn is the season of scented candles and this rich, warm woody fragrance is the perfect scent to lead us away from the floral summer scents. The diffuser keeps the room smelling lovely all day then I light the candle in the evening when it’s finally time to relax, it’s one of my favourite evening rituals. They come in beautiful decorative glass jars and would make a lovely gift.

We are very excited about the Joules and DFS Collaboration launching this November. Joules, the premium British lifestyle brand is extending its homeware offering with the launch of its first-ever sofa collection with DFS, Britain’s leading sofa retailer and manufacturer. My favourite is the DFS Joules Windsor (shown above) but all of the sofas in the range are designed to “reawaken a room and give any space a breath of fresh air” . I’m just wondering if these designs will be available in corner sofa bed style too… Prices start at £998 but there’s always the sofa sales to look forward to, right?

We needed new cups for the kids at mealtimes. In the past I’ve bought pricey Cath Kidston tumblers and cheaper ones from Home Bargains. All have broke or cracked quickly and we were always left a few cups short. I’m so happy with these Rice Melamine Curved Cups, they look great (I love the pastel colours!), feel lovely and smooth, wash well and are great quality. We’ve already dropped a few accidentally to test them out and they survived the test. I wish I’d ordered some sooner. They cost £16.99 but I think I’ve saved money in the long run as they’ll last longer than the cheap and cheerful sets I’ve bought in the past.

Another collection that I’m so excited about is the Disney Peter Pan X Cath Kidston collaboration. It’s their latest Disney pattern and the one that I’m most excited about. I love the Tinkerbell print items such as the cushion shown above but I adore the Peter Pan pattern too. Available from 7pm, 21st September (yes that’s TODAY). Some stores have a special late night opening to celebrate the release so get down to your local Cath Kidston if it’s open!
What home buys will you be making this month or what’s on your September wishlist?
