A strong trend for #SS17 is the statement shirt. I admit that I’ve taken longer to come around to the “buttoned up” look than most but now I can’t get enough of it. Perfect for those Spring days that are just warm enough for one layer but not quite enough for the bare armed look. A sleeved shirt makes the perfect Spring top.
I’ve chosen five of my favourites from LA Brand, Rails Clothing at Trilogy Stores, the brand synonymous with premium denim.
Take a look:
Top Left
Rails Hunter Shirt in White Indigo and Blush
The classic Hunter shirt from Rails is updated in a white, indigo and blush pink colour combination this season. Pair with dark wash denim for a laid back look.
Second Row, from left to right
Rails Brett Shirt in Geo Embroidery
This has to be my favourite of the five. What’s not to love with the geometric embroidery and curved shirttail hem. Wear with boyfriend jeans or cargo trousers for chilled weekends.
Rails Hunter Shirt in Nightfall and White
Another classic Hunter shirt but in darker colours for a more formal look. The button up style in ultra soft plaid features one front breast pocket, button cuffed long sleeves and a shirttail hem. Add dark wash denim for an understated look.
Rails Carter Shirt in Pigment Stars
My second favourite! I love this Carter Shirt for its super soft tencel fabric which makes it an easy everyday wardrobe staple season after season. In an all over star print in pigmented blue the denim button-down shirt features double chest pockets, long sleeves, a curved hem and button cuffs that can be rolled up to wear in a more relaxed style. Layer under a knit in cooler weather and throw over a vintage tee come summer.
Bottom Row
Rails Ali Striped Shirt in Blue and White
Clean, fresh and crisp, just as a shirt should be. The Aly shirt is a long sleeve button-down style, refreshed in blue and white stripes. The blouse features a semi-relaxed fit with one chest pocket and a curved hemline. Pair with vintage wash jeans for an authentic off-duty look.
Will you be wearing shirts this Spring? Which is your favourite?
