I love dresses but I struggle to find flattering Summer frocks. My instinctive dressing style is “cover it all up” so when the weather warms up, I do find myself in a (hot and stuffy) dilemma.
I’m most comfortable in vintage and skater style dresses. However I was recently drawn to this Cream and Blue Flower Flippy Dress for the “flippy” (technical term) skirt half of the dress. It gives the dress a 60’s feel and I plan to wear it retro style with tights and white boots . The appeal of the wide bottom panel made me forgive the sleeveless style of the dress but sadly my own arms aren’t so forgiving.
The dress is comfortable and really versatile. It’s great for a summer meal or evening out and can also be dressed up with a fascinator and clutch handbag for a wedding or prom.
I really love this dress, it’s just not the most flattering for my shape (or lack of), so I’m now on a mission looking for a “flippy dress” with short sleeves and a lower neckline. Meanwhile, I need a light cover up to wear over this dress. A knit would be too heavy but a mesh cover up could do the job.
This dress is a great buy and Quiz have a lovely selection of prom dresses for special occasions. I love this Cream Floral Print Bardot Dip Hem Dress.
Overall, my favourite part of this dress is definitely the flippy cut and the way it holds it’s shape. If you like this style too, they also sell a Lime and Blue Flower Print Flippy Dress for a brighter and more casual look.
Do you like the Flippy cut of a dress? Will you be wearing it this season?
