January seemed to go slowly with plenty of opportunities to take photos of the four kids together. In contrast, February is flying by.
On our February days out we have never seemed to be a complete family- on one occasion Rebecca stayed home to bake with Dave, another weekend Danny went away with youth club to watch Dynamo in Cardiff and Danny and I have also been away for a few days in London. This past weekend I stayed in Cardiff so it got to the fifteenth of the month and I still hadn’t taken my siblings photograph. Luckily, it’s half term so we could all go on adventure together today and I could snap my February siblings portrait.
It’s so nice to be able to go out on a dry, sunny day again. A few more sunny days and there will be less mud too!
The kids play well together outdoors, they always make up fun things to do, new challenges and look out for each other. Here they were playing “pooh sticks” waiting for their sticks to float past.
We sat and ate our picnic here, a rare quiet moment of the day.
Then it was back to the usual running around again as they started a new game.
We had a look at the pond. This is a beautiful spot for photos in spring when the water lilies flower.
Danny was kind and caring, making sure Izzy was lifted high enough to see the pond. He also arranged for Rebecca to hold Izzy so he could help Caitlyn up as he noticed that she couldn’t quite reach the pond either.
Todays sunshine gave me hope for the longer days and carefree evenings soon to come.
Of course at least one of them had to be holding a stick in the photo!
I find the siblings relationship can make parenting easier on times. When it was time to leave, I didn’t have to round the kids up and tell them this. I just mentioned to Danny that we would watch a DVD when we got home and he ran and encouraged the girls to come to me as he couldn’t wait to go home and watch a movie (after they’d washed their wellies clean of course!).
