When I was younger, I loved to play with water. I enjoyed playing with the Nursery “water table” and watching the water mill spin round and round as I poured liquid into it. I adored the warm summer days when my parents put up the paddling pool and the long carefree days of paddling and swimming in the sea. My dad loved this too and a lot of my favourite memories with him involve the fun on the water that we had together as a family.
My kids also love playing with water and are drawn to it wherever we go. One good side of all this rain, is there has been a lot of water to play with. While it might be too cold for a swim, the beach is a fun place for water play all year round and it’s always the right time of year for a paddle…
On one particularly windy, rainy day, we went to Broad Haven Beach (yes I know we’ve been there lots recently, we seem to go through certain beach phases!).
We donned our raincoats and wellies and enjoyed the wild weather.
Izzy was particularly well protected with her Forest All in One suit from Kozi Kidz.
It kept her so warm and dry, which meant she could play for longer.
It fitted Izzy really well thanks to the adjustable waist. The hood is detachable (but we needed it on this occasion!) and also adjustable so you can easily make it stay up. The foot straps and leg gaitor make sure no water can leak in between the wellies and the suit. Even with all of these features the suit was still comfortable and allowed unrestricted movement so she was free to run around the beach to her heart’s content- we certainly had the beach to ourselves for her to do so.
The inner cuff kept her hands and arms dry and warm. This would be even cosier with gloves too, but they were off to play with the water.
It’s hard to show in the photos but the rain was relentless. I should invest in a waterproof camera!
Oh, the magic and energy of running water-I find it mesmerising!
The kids love to try and stop running water- usually by making dams but on this occasion by keeping it closed.
Izzy’s Forest All in One suit is also padded and insulated so protects her from so many elements- even rolling around a pebbly beach.
She gave her new suit a definite thumbs up!
Even when we left the beach there was still a lot of water. This puddle ran all across the road. When we got home, we were completely soaked and apart from Izzy, we all had to change our clothes. Once we took Izzy’s all in one off, she was warm and dry underneath so got to keep her dress and tights on. This suit would be great over her uniform on heavy rainy school days as I hate it when the kids get wet before school.
I’m still hoping for snow as this will be the perfect suit to keep Izzy warm while sledging.
Have you been out and about in the wet and wild weather? We’ve had lots of cosy times indoors sheltering from it too!
