As well as getting all the kids school uniform ready, we’ve also needed to dig out all our waterproofs and wellies. On rainy days, sometimes I feel inclined to stay indoors, enjoy a hot drink under a blanket and cuddle up watching old films on Netflix. On others, I need to get out and “enjoy the rain”. It’s cool and refreshing and the kids have fun splashing in the puddles.
As readers know, we are Lottie Doll Ambassadors and it’s great to see how alike the dolls are to my own girls. As well as the Butterfly protector and Super Lottie, they also have School Days Lottie, Muddy Puddles Lottie and Stargazer Lottie.
School Days Lottie
School Days Lottie Doll is as her name suggests, a school girl, just like my girls. She comes with a bag and also some cards with “back to school advice”. You can read Lottie’s back to school tips online too. This doll is great for role playing out situations in school that your children may need advice about.
Stargazer Lottie
We all love stargazing. Danny has his Astronomy Badge and we enjoy visiting the Planetarium. We recently visited the Space Centre in Leicester which was fascinating. We also have a home mini globe planetarium that the kids like to play with. This Autumn and Winter, when we go out stargazing with our telescope, Our Stargazer Lottie Doll can come too as she comes with her own telescope and also solar system collector cards.
We have been learning different mnemonics to remember the planet order (funnily enough I find it easier to remember the planets than the actual mnemonic!) but Izzy likes this one:
“My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets”
Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and the (since 2006) Dwarf Planet, Pluto
There are lots of others that leave off Pluto completely, for example:
“My Very Easy Method Just SUN”
and kids love to make their own (often quite cheeky) versions up too!
Stargazer Lottie also comes with a sheet listing notable women in astronomy, which was very interesting to read. There is also a DIY Solar System activity on the Lottie site which we are going to make one day.
Muddy Puddles Lottie
Muddy Puddles Lottie is just our sort of girl, she loves to be outdoors and the rain isn’t going to stop her. She loves jumping in puddles as do we. I admit that I am very jealous of her lovely yellow polka wellies, are you?
Lottie Scooter
As you know, my kids love to scooter and so do their Lottie Dolls with this Scooter Set. Rebecca loved decorating the ramp with her stickers. We also have other scooter toys so we mix them together sometimes and the girls play “scooter park” and stunt games.
Lottie Dolls are the girls favourites. Their birthdays are coming up and new Lottie Dolls are on the list. They would love the Kite Flyer Finn (who doesn’t love to fly a kite?), Pony Club Lottie (it comes with a pony!) and Pirate Queen Lottie (Ahoy, me hearties!). They would love to collect them all one day.
Which is your favourite Lottie Doll?
