Last week we enjoyed an evening without the kids (thanks Nanny, Granny and Grampy for sharing the kids between you!). First we took a stroll along Milford Marina (the Docks) and enjoyed a drink on the balcony of The Harbourmaster.
It felt very strange at first sitting down with just Dave and no kids, family or friends around us. Usually we have too many things to say and not enough time to say it. For a minute or two blessed with this precious time I couldn’t think of anything to say to him. I giggled and said I felt like I was on “First Dates” (yes, awkward!). Eventually the conversation flowed (as did the beer!) and our friends turned up.
For Dave’s birthday meal we went to Buccibar for some delicious Indian cuisine. It was my first time at this restaurant and my first impressions are it has a lovely interior, great lighting and atmosphere as well as friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed reading the chef’s menu as he had added funny descriptionsto each dish.
The poppadoms and pickle tray went down well as always- I stuck to my favourite onion salad- when we cook Indian food at home Dave always makes this for me. The main meals and naans were all delicious too- so fresh.
It was a fun night and lovely to see everyone! We’re also going to see Ginger Wildhearts Songs and Words Tour and Camden Rocks Festival for his birthday presents so we’re both looking forward to that!
Happy birthday, Dave! xxx
