Oh dear! I was so excited when I was offered the chance to review some holiday clothes from Kaleidoscope. I instantly fell in love with the 1950’s pin-up style Spot Print Shaping Swimsuit. I knew it would be great for our upcoming holiday, then slowly it dawned on me that I would need photos for the blog!

I packed my new holiday clothes away for our short break at Bluestone, thinking that it would be easier to take the photos while I was feeling carefree and in the holiday mood. I ended up going swimming alone with the kids so a chance to “model” was out of the question. It was a good opportunity to review the lovely swim suit though.
For the last few years, I’ve been wearing supermarket black tankinis (every year I just buy a size bigger! Sigh!) I’ve always loved the idea of a shaping swimsuit but worried they would feel uncomfortable or restricting in anyway as I admit I would always choose comfort over looks while on holiday with the kids. I was pleased to find that it just felt “supportive” in a reassuring way. It put emphasis on my waist and made me look like I have a curvy figure rather than the rounded shape I actually have! I will definitely feel happier wearing this on the beach this summer than my old tankini! The colour is great too and will flatter a tan, so I really hope we get some sun!
I also chose an Aztec short dress. This throw on Summer dress is perfect for holiday or cruise fashion as once rolled up it takes up barely any room in the suitcase. It doesn’t crease. It looks great worn over a swim costume with flip flops in the day and can be dressed up with a wooden turquoise necklace and lotus stripe wedge sandals for an evening look. This dress isn’t officially a two way dress but I discovered that you can fold the top half of the dress into the skirt to wear it as sarong on the beach.
The anchor print bag and flip flops are perfect for the beach. The bag has room for all the essentials such as towels, sun tan lotion, water and a good book. It also has a pop fastening so it can close securely. I love the anchor flip flops too, perfect for our boating and beach days this Summer.
Izzy thought it was quite funny seeing Mummy in her swimming costume and sunhat in the day (I was so relieved that the postman didn’t call!). She helped me take the photos, then wanted a turn herself…
…then she got bored and asked if it was time to watch My Little Pony yet. She spent the rest of the day wearing my sun hat and sunglasses of course!
I was very impressed with the selection of clothes on Kaleidoscope, everything that I needed for our holiday was there and I liked being able to complete the outfit. It was easy to order and the clothes arrived very quickly.
I was sent this selection of Kaleidoscope clothes to review. All opinions are honest and my own.
