Washing our family laundry with Persil Non-Bio and Comfort Pure Fabric Conditioner always brings back precious memories to me of both being pregnant and enjoying that cherished newborn time with each of my four children.
As soon as I found out I was pregnant I started buying white bodysuits, sleepsuits, hooded towels, mittens and booties.
I would wash each item carefully with the above products as I knew they were specially made to be kind to sensitive skin.
I would then hang them out on the line and put them in a special “baby draw”. Every day I would open up that drawer and breathe in the gorgeous scent. I would lay the clothes out on my bed and try to imagine that there would soon be a real baby wearing them. I could never quite believe it!
My hospital and baby bag all smelt lovely and everything from our flannels to dressing gowns as soft as they could be.
I soon found out that even with all the clothes and baby equipment ready nothing can really prepare you for how you will feel after you have had a baby. I remember the overwhelming feeling of love and the natural instinct to protect my child. Danny was a very poorly baby and spent a long time in hospital. I am so grateful that with the help of Special Care Baby units and very skilled surgeons I still have my boy.
Naturally I worried a little bit more during my subsequent pregnancies, so I realise the importance of charities like Tommy’s who fund research into miscarriage, premature birth and still birth. When my niece was born premature the information we were given from Tommy’s was really useful and reassuring.
As my babies have grown older they have still appreciated soft, scented clothes next to their skin, fluffy towels after their bath and snuggly blankets to cosy up in especially as we move into the Autumn and Winter months.
Now our own family is complete, I love washing all the old baby clothes, bundling it up and passing it on to friends and families starting their own families. I find the Persil Non-Bio keeps the clothes fresh and clean, while the Comfort softens and conditions them making them gentle enough for a baby.
Asda are currently selling Persil Non-Bio 25w and Comfort Pure 42w in a special Better Together Pack and will donate £100,000 to Tommy’s to support their research. I think it’s great that a brand many new mums use and love are donating to such a worthwhile charity.
We found both our products in the Laundry Aisle.
Comfort Pure was a little bit further up the Aisle in the Fabric Conditioners section. Look out for a special display in your local store to buy both products together.
We still use Persil Non Bio and Comfort Pure to wash our clothes, the clothes are just bigger now and we have lots more school uniforms and sports kits to wash! It’s still important to me that I am doing the best to look after my children’s skin and keeping them happy, which makes me happy.
