On Saturday I travelled to Cardiff for the Cardiff Bloggers Spring Meet in aid of the charity, Give and Make Up. I had a lovely train journey chatting to a retired headteacher from Pembrokeshire. We hadn’t quite finished putting the World to rights when it was time for me to get off at Cardiff. I love meeting interesting people on the train, it certainly makes the journey pass quickly.
When I arrived at Brewhouse I treated myself to a half a lager that went down so nicely. Brewhouse is a live music venue and I will definitely be visiting again to catch a few local bands.
Our private room was filled with Lush Goodies, so you can imagine the gorgeous smell.

The lovely Lush Ladies were dressed up vintage style to celebrate the return of some Lush Retro Products- they looked gorgeous!
They also treated us to a hand and arm massage which was nice and relaxing.
The Brewhouse Glamorgan Veggy Burger with Skin on Chips and Red Onion Slaw was delicious.
It was then time for the all important and very exciting raffle. Cue lots of drum rolls! Stunning jewellery prizes were donated by Meg Darlington. Meg is a contemporary jeweller based in Wales. She is inspired by all things “worn and weather beaten”.
Leanne and organiser Rosie picked the winning raffle tickets under the watchful eye of vloggers and bloggers- no pressure there then!
Laura was delighted to win the necklace.
Charli takes a “snap” of the lovely earrings that she won.
Alice shows us her prize of earrings (with her friends Aled, Katherine and Bryn right behind her!).
We then moved on to our VIP trip to E.L.F. (Eyes Lips Face). This was my first visit here, so I was very excited. The staff are all so lovely and passionate about this new E.L.F. store- I learnt lots from them. They are all trained make up artists so they know all about make up!
Goody Bags were hanging from our chairs but we were invited to have a nose around the store first.
The first thing that caught my eye were E.L.F amazing eyeshadow palettes and all for reasonable prices too.
I felt like a kid in a sweet shop as I realised that there was a lot more to E.L.F.than eyeshadows. They had everything.
There were lots of make up goodies put out ready for us to play with.
The E.L.F. ladies were so well organised and we were really well looked after.
Georgina behind the nail polish sets!
We took a few #elfstoreselfies!
I love the make up bags. One of these filled up full of E.L.F. goodies would make a great gift!
I had clearly gone a little bit Selfie mad by this point!
The other day I was reminiscing about my cream/powder foundation from my teenage years. It was so convenient to bring out and about with me for touch ups.
With this in mind, I treated myself to HD Mattifying Cream Foundation, with mirror and sponge. It is brilliant and I have already left my current foundation at the bottom of my make up bag and started using this one.
I hope to write a separate post about my new foundation and the make up in our goody bags, but for now I’ll tell you that I love my new nail polishes in Brown and Party Purple, perfect for Spring! I have also used my new Super Glossy Lip Shine in Goddness every day. It looks (and tastes!) so good!
I will definitely be returning to E.L.F. when I am next in Cardiff- they have lots of great events coming up soon so make sure you are following them on Twitter.
We then went to the Benefit Cardiff (Queen Street) Beauty Counter as we had to see our favourite Benedude Anthony and totally “Pap” him of course! It was quite a funny moment lots of Bloggers all taking photos of him at once!
Gorgeous photos they were too! I can’t wait for the next Benefit event as they are such fun!
My last stop before the train was to Tiger. I could have bought so much in there but managed to restrain myself and only buy a glass egg timer for the bathroom (for the kids to time themselves cleaning their teeth). Exciting I know!
It was a typical Welsh train journey home with random people bursting into song loudly. I laughed as one man started singing Calon Lân (as you do)! Then, I heard a girl say to her friend, “I can’t believe you don’t know this song! I’m English and even I know the Welsh National Anthem!” Ahem. Quite!
It was a lovely day, I’m glad I got to have a catch up with other bloggers and meet new friends- I can’t wait to see them all again soon!
Thank you to Rosie for organising this event and of course to Brewhouse, Lush and E.L.F. too! You’re all awesome!
If you would like to donate make up to Give and Make Up you can do at Escentual in Cardiff and other collection points in the UK.
wow! looks like a fantastic blogger meet for a fantastic cause 🙂
Big up to Lush for its green grass body wash and shampoo – easily the most delicious thing on the planet.
Looked like great fun! x

Ooh, I love Lush. Treated myself to some shampoo and conditioner from them the other day. Bought a shampoo bar for my daughter too, which she's very proud of as she got to pick it.
