Oh goodness! I just saw a “Siblings” Post on someone’s blog and thought to myself, “I’ve already done mine.” I then did a double take and realised that is is already time for “The March Edition”!
March Siblings was meant to be easy. Every year I take a photo of all the kids together on St David’s Day, so that would have been my Siblings Portrait.
But no. St David’s Day fell during Half-term on a Saturday this year. I though of dressing the kids up anyway, but with swimming lessons, parties and Danny working on boats and getting messy it didn’t seem practical. Therefore I planned to take a photo on the official school “St David’s Day Celebrations”.
However, even these were on different days. Isabelle dressed up on the Monday and big kids on the Wednesday, though Danny was ill and missed his last Junior School St David’s Day altogether (a fact that upset me far more than it did him).
Three Siblings plus one cousin! |
All four siblings plus one cousin! Result! |
I was planning to take a photo of all the kids together this week when I remembered that I had already taken a couple of sibling (plus one cousin who is like a sibling to them!) photos last weekend. We had a chippy tea at this viewing spot. After tea, the kids all ran up to play with the cannon and as always let me take a few photos of them sitting on it.
The photos aren’t perfect. Not everyone has the best expression in every photo. We also all had our big coats and wellies on, not to mention being covered in mud and hay.
But I think these photos sum up the end of the lovely day that we had together, as well as showing the place where we feel lucky to live and also give me hope for more light, sunny evenings eating together outside.
Wicked shots! Loving the cannon as a seat – what a cunning idea!
Thanks! Oh yes, of course the cannon was all MY idea! (not really the little monkeys just climbed on it as kids do! 🙂 ) x
Thanks! Yes, it's lovely when all take part in same things. He wasn't too bad. I was more upset as I know St David's is never quite the same after Juniors is it? xxx
great shots! Looks like you had fun 🙂
i was thinking to myself ..i recognise that canon..that sea area.. then i looked at the tags! i used to live in milford haven so i know that area well 🙂 time goes so fast doesn't it! also i'm curious..do your kids ever take photos of you (not necessarily on a monthly basis)? that could be a fun thing for them to do & a nice little keepsake for them.
Lovely photos
Great photos 😉 x
Great photos, love the background x
Awww, these photos are fab. So fun. And I distinctly remember sitting on a canon for a similar photo as a kid, I reckon it's a right of passage really. x
