After Ceri’s Leaving Do for the grown ups on Saturday, we needed a bit of a do for the little ones!
We didn’t have a huge amount of time to organise and bake all our goodies for a Surprise Tea, but as always once we put all the food together, it looked a fine spread.
“Ssh! It’s a secret!”
The kids loved surprising Aunty Ceri. We didn’t tell her we were coming around, though I’m sure with all the noise we made once we arrived she must have guessed we were there!
There were lots of hugs.
Izzy waited patiently to choose her party food. She reminds me of poor “Oliver” here!
After we’d eaten it was time for our entertainment.
The kids all joined in “a parade” into the living room and sang songs or played guitar/keyboard to Ceri.
As always there was dancing and lots of twirls!
Then we decided to play family games on the Wii.
Rebecca, very professionally set out a table in her notebook and kept track of turns and scores for us.
Izzy played with her Baba in a trolley.
Nanny surprised us on her turn, having a talent for Wii skimming stones. We think she secretly practices every night! I was useless
Looking out of the window the sky was candystriped blue and white.
I couldn’t resist taking these photos when I popped out the back.
Then it was time for “the cake”.
We also thought it would be nice to snap some photos of all the kids together for Ceri to treasure. This was harder than it sounds with tired kids who just wanted to play.
Then we took some photos of Ceri with her nephew and all her nieces.
Then there were lots more hugs and it was time to go home for the Sunday night getting ready for school rituals- I can understand why the kids didn’t want to leave!
Ceri is leaving on Saturday, but we will see her already on the Sunday to break up our journey home from Birmingham where we will be attending the Little Hearts Matter Open Day. It will be a great chance for Danny to meet up with his fellow “Heart” friends and for Rebecca to meet other siblings.
Good Luck Aunty Ceri! With lots and lots of love, Danny, Rebecca, Cerys, Caitlyn and Isabelle
