It’s so much easier to have the kind of happy feeling that makes you sing and dance when the Sun is shining.
Recently, every school run has been a rushed affair to get the kids out of the cold, wind and rain as fast as I can. Taking photos would have meant a camera broken by water damage, so I have left it at home!
Therefore, on Tuesday when the Sun shone brightly as I walked to pick Caitlyn and Rebecca up, I knew we could have a fun, leisurely walk home.
It stayed warm and sunny until we got to the field. Then the Sun decided to hide behind the fluffy white clouds. However, it was still dry and calm, so we made the most of it.
The girls could run across the field.
This photo makes me laugh. I have no idea why they are both bent over at a similar angle to each other at the same time? Answers in the comments please!
As always there was climbing…
… jumping…
…leaping over puddles…
…and running.
Dried grass was collected into bunches and gifted to friends who passed. Bunches then turned into brooms to sweep the street with. I love imaginary play.
The girls were in a happy mood, which means lots of singing and dizzy dancing.
I really can’t say where she gets her dance moves from! (What do you think +Ceri Evans and +Jo Cerys ?)
Yes we do get some funny looks but I think the World would be a happier place if everyone danced in the street whenever they wanted to!
We decided to stay out in the garden while we waited for Danny to walk home from Drama After School Club.
I picked up all the rubbish that had blown in during the storms and the girls washed up their outdoor toys.
I just need a few dry days in a row to dry out the overgrown grass so I can cut it with our little mower.
I’m always sad to cut the weeds though!
We filled up the bird feeders. The food didn’t last long, so I’ve already refilled the seed again. We will have to make more Hanging Bird Cake Feeders during half term. It’s lovely to hear so many birds tweeting from their hedgerow home at the moment.
Then, from the garden, we spotted Danny walking home with his friends. As it was nice, he had stopped to play with friends, which was lovely to see.
Eventually, we had to call him in again, as he had to have tea before Scouts, but I’m so glad that Spring is on it’s way and the kids can enjoy more outdoor play again.

Keep on meaning to take my camera on our school run. Haven't wanted to linger recently. Lovely to see the signs of Spring starting. A daisy too! #CountryKids
