Last week Clogau celebrated the opening of their first UK Flagship Store. They spent three years searching for the perfect location until they found the most desirable destination, St David’s Dewi Sant, Cardiff.
I am so pleased that they chose St David’s and was delighted to be invited to the Launch Party. The new store is the perfect location for customers to enjoy the ultimate Clogau experience, from Clogau designed ceilings, walls and the showcasing of almost every one of Clogau’s beautiful jewellery collections.
There is an intriguing mix of both traditional design and new immersive technologies, with two interactive hologram stations within the store. If you were also a fan of the Clogau Fairytale TV Advert, then you will love it!
Claire Jones, former royal harpist of Prince Charles and Clogau Brand Ambassador, gave us an exclusive performance at the launch. I had goosebumps as she played “Heartstrings”, the theme tume in the magical advert, which is now known as the “Soundtrack for Clogau”. You may be pleased to know that there will also be a harpist playing once a month for Clogau Cardiff customers.
The store also boasts a bespoke Champagne bar, so you can relax as you take time to choose your beautiful, Clogau Jewellery.
I have been intrigued by Welsh Gold, since reading about the gift of Clogau gold, dating from the closure of the Clogau St David’s mine in 1911 to the Royal family. There was enough gold to go into the wedding rings for The Queen Mother, The Queen, Princess Margaret, Princess Royal and Diana. The Duchess of Cambridge carried on this tradition.
I felt so privileged to be there in person hearing founder, William Robert’s experience of Clogau as a family business. He explained how they bought the mine with the intention of opening a tourist attraction. The planning for that venture never came through, however, they were lucky enought to strike Gold!
Now, of course Clogau are down to their last remaining gold, but there is still hope after a recent investigation that in the future more Gold will be mined again.
It truly is a family business with William’s son, Ben as Managing Director and daughter, Samantha as the brand’s Creative Designer. There was a huge round of applause as they cut the ribbon and officially opened the store.

It was a lovely evening, the champagne was flowing and the food was delicious. I was excited to meet Leanne and Laura again and to meet Mia and Georgina for the first time.
Storytelling is at the heart of every piece of Clogau Jewellery and when bought for important milestones in our lives it becomes part of our story too.
I was so lucky to get a goody bag and very surprised to find it actually contained Clogau jewellery. I am very excited to now own the Charm Carrier Pendant. I can’t wait to choose a charm for it…this will have a post of it’s own.
The perfume, Am Byth, has a gorgeous fragrance, it reminds me of the green, green grass of home.
Thank you so much for inviting me to the Clogau launch party. Whether more gold is found or not, I really hope Clogau get the fairytale happy ending that they deserve.
