Christmas is such a wonderful family time. Every day seems to be full of more surprises and lovely activities to do.
Therefore, when it is time to go back to school and work at the beginning of January, it can all feel like a terrible anti-climax.
I like to avoid this feeling by also planning family activities to take place after Christmas.
We always book our Panto tickets for the weekend after the kids return to school. That way, we find they have something to look forward to during what can be a difficult first week back.
We are also planning to take the kids Christmas shopping in Cardiff to spend any left over Christmas money and hopefully grab a few bargains in the sales.
Other Winter activities that can be saved until after Christmas are Ice Skating and Dry Ski Slope Skiing, which the kids have been looking forward to since Rebecca’s birthday in October.
As well as planning fun, family weekends, I also like to plan our February Half-Term, the first school holiday of the year.
A short break or week long break at Butlins would be an ideal family escape to look forward to. We loved our last visit there and thanks to the Skyline Pavilions and the Splash Waterworld, there would be plenty of family activities to do, whatever the weather, making it a great all year round family break.
We also love meeting all the characters and dancing at the night time entertainment!
Are you tempted to plan a fun family trip to look forward to after Christmas? If so, you can book now for February half term breaks 2014 at Butlins.
