I was really hoping that the predicted storms wouldn’t prevent me getting to London this morning ready for the Next Blogger Network Workshop.
I’ve been looking forward to it for ages, I couldn’t wait to see both old and new blogger friends and to finally meet the Next team. I also had my outfit planned and have been so excited about wearing it.
I have been really boring recently and have stuck to black and darker colours, however since being colour analysed I decided to make an effort to buy new colours when clothes shopping.
I decided for this Next event just to go for it and buy a red (one of “my colours”) dress. There were lots of really smart ones, but I liked this more casual Red Skater Dress. I chose it for it’s comfort factor- important when facing a long journey on the Megabus and also it’s flattering shape. I will have to make a short video clip of the dress to give you some idea of the material, it is far better quality than other jersey dresses I have worn so falls really nicely.
I teamed my red skater dress with black opaque tights and Black Wedge Long Boots. The wedge heel makes these so easy and quiet to walk in (I feel conscious when I “clip clop” into a room).
I also decided last minute to add my old black cardigan to the outfit- all the talk of storms was making me feel chilly!
I did buy this Black Filigree Necklace to compliment my new outfit. However it was too heavy to team with the mid neckline of the skater dress-my neck wasn’t long enought to carry it off- so I’m going to have to wait until I wear a lower cut dress or top to wear it. It’s a lovely piece! I swapped it for a chain of black beads instead.
However, with all the storm warnings and bridge closures it would be unwise for me to travel on a double decker in Gale Force winds for a very long overnight journey so I’m very sad to say that I’ll be missing this event.
I hope everyone has a lovely time and I’ll be looking out for all the tweets and write ups of the sessions from the amazing speakers.
Have fun Next Bloggers and have a cocktail for me! 🙂
