Ooh, it’s suddenly turned to Autumn all around us and Halloween is just around the corner. alexandalexa challenged us to take part in a Spooky Fruit Blogger Competition.
Of course we agreed as we knew they would be fun to make and delicious (and healthy!) to eat.
Danny was away at a Gymnastics Competition, so the older girls, Rebecca and Caitlyn started creating whilst little sister, Izzy kept eating all the fruit!
They started off making Spooky Fruit faces on paper plates (reusable plates are better for the environment).
This one has menacing satsuma eyebrows, a wart on it’s strawberry nose and apple fangs. We whizzed up some strawberries to make some strawberry blood.
This is Caitlyn’s Spooky Monster. He has blood red strawberry eyes, spiky apple tusks and a satsuma screaming mouth.
A spooky monster orange satsuma face.
Then the girls started getting more creative using cocktail sticks. First they made a plummy witch, with grape green eyes, a satsuma wrinkled nose and an apple witches hat.
Then they made my favourite, a spooky, scary spider. He has a plum body, green bulging grape eyes, satsuma fangs, green grape legs and strawberry juice blood.
I wouldn’t like to meet him in real life!
We had great fun making these spooky fruit creations and Izzy was glad to finally be alowed to eat them once the photos had been taken!
This is our entry into the alexandalexa Spooky Fruit Blogger Competition.
NB: The fruit is fresh, I used “spooky lighting” in the photographs for effect and it makes the grapes look worse for wear!

The Fruit & Veggie Bowl is a great dorm item for eating fruits, vegetables, and other dorm snacks.Fruit & Veggie Bowl
